Oh and to greatness, just made 500 credits on voodoo market w four transactions. While I am happy with the return on my total investment of $40 in this game, it is possible to "live off the land."
And just to keep the history thread alive here, here are some thoughs.
1) in the beginning there was no voodoo, and it was good.
2) I think like sep, MAJ, skyhawk others, I think people had to mess up for you to attack their mercs.
3) then early PK formed with MAJ at the top and rolando boot etc below I believe. They became dominant.
4) some sort of fight broke out inside PK and MAJ was forced out.
5) Rolando took over PK and took it to incredible heights of power and annoyingness:) (and why spain is so strong to this day)
6) Maj made ZomB and because it had to live off the land compared to PK, it became home to the best pirates in the game.
7) Big mercs thrived as they always did, but they started to arm.
8) ZomB and Helm had a huge war, kind of over Capt D's proprietary only-bank-in-the-game, but also over freedom to pirate and group reliations and all that.
9) ZomB ended up pretty much wiping the floor with everyone, even eventually toppling the aparently unstoppable PK
10) Then MAJ rejoined PK, another split occured with ZomB people staying or even being tossed out
11) Then I guess you are talking the increase of national politics, port battle, influence with countries like Spain taking front and center.
12) Somewhat of a collapse of influence/nation games, with cries of foul from both sides
13) I leave the game a bit--you guys might fill in the blanks here
14) I return, Spain still a strenght but not monopoly, "old" pk and zomb players pretty inactive.
15) A lot of trading.
16) Lots of new members!
17) Yet to be written....
