You can not guarantee safety, no matter how good one is.

It's Avonmora : if we are to adopt a day of peace, or some other reason for a cessation of hostilities, lets create our own.

it is not that we need a day of peace, but that at times the majority of players is offline for RL occasions. a random free day will not substitute that.
and i don't think that imposing a rule is the answer. But yesterday the smart people know that americans have to pay some attention to their families and turkeys. so al US-players are vulnerable because a RL event. if the need for time-out or protection is felt, that can be discussed within the guilds and across guilds by the guild masters. they could just announce some severe repercussions of extreme hostile activity to their members :)
nothing more is needed imo.

There was a commonly held courtesy in the game, but then Danik came.

I mean my solution is just to not have anything to steal.

But as dumb dumb Danik fails to realize in his usually feckless fashion, the card is not tied to any holiday. Its up to the player to decide on "a break." It use could be limiited to once a year.

"suspend" could be aother option where nothing moves, your account is litterally frozen (no profits, traders) until you unfreeze it.

Too often I've seen people going through some personal crisis, death sickness, only to come back and find years of work gone.

Back in the day we rarely "cleaned someone out." Do to the diligent discrace that is Danik, there are no courtesies left.

Its up to the designers to make a solution for the players they proped up rendering the game unplayable, unenjoyable.

Wow Maha...

Why only smart people? Everyone knows about Thanksgiving, at least everyone with Internet and cable TV. American culture is worldwide and that's fine. :)
But, some smart or better to say informed people, know what's happening in Standing Rock, for example, will rest of America is celebrating Thanksgiving holydays... but this kind of story is not supported by mainstream media...so...

However, to return to Danik's proposal. Why not to make some holyday in our virtual world. I think that it would be amazing! Celebrating, for example the day of the discovery of a new pirate world (start of the game), the day when Avonmora got her name, the day when some of (pretty old) Avonmora states began his reign (Spain and Tokelau for example)... etc..etc... And celebrating Holydays could be a good reason for game developers and admins to give presents to all active players (as it already done several times when I play). Establishing alliances too... HELM already celebrated four years since the establishment and we prepared several games in our guild and on forum, with some rewards and many talks. So, Holidays ( with a cessation of hostilities or not) are great for our community (game and forum), whoever celebrate! :)

Edit

"suspend" could be aother option where nothing moves, your account is litterally frozen (no profits, traders) until you unfreeze it.

''Frozen account'' is totally ok possibility and It was implemented in some other game I played.

Actually, I proposed a card like this several years ago : disapproved as the admins then didnt want players to vacation. I dont recall ever being asked by you or your guilds if I was busy with festivities on any particular day before you attacked me. I do recall abusive mails afterwards : which is why you are on block and will stay that way. We must define 'courtesy' differently..

Being blocked by you is like being one of the allied powers in WWII--thank god.

An avonmora holiday, while quaint, does nothing to provide the player with a break, other than a random day.

You know though, if you are fugging a guy for days on end and he's not returning, chances are there is a reason. We would pull that voodoo.

And Danik, as far as I know, I've never "hit" you at all. You are beneath my notice as far as your gameplay.

Your know it all mouth on here sure is tiresome though.

Glad you've gone from trashing my idea, to claiming it as your own!

I hate people who agree with you and then still have to make a fight out it.

How about just "+1" next time?
