give non-active guilds a recruitment ban

Postby Maha » Fri Nov 11, 2016 1:36 pm

when i started i got an invitation from a guild and joined that guild.
that invitation was the last communication towards me.
i tried for over a week to get into contact with my guild, to no succes

this guild still gets new players to join them with similar experience.
in my opinion, this is bad for the game. new players should get help to develop and their guild is the place to get that help.

therefore i like to suggest that when ALL members of a guild have been offline for three days in a row at the same time, that that guild is unable to accept players who are new to the game (never have been in a guild).

Here is a real curve ball, during this time you see who is active, leave your current guild and join the new guild.

i did that after several days, being loyal and all. and am happy in [MERC]

new players may not know what to expect from a guild and just plow on or give up.
this game has a steep learning curve. those players who need help should be able to get it in their guild (or their guild should direct them to another guild that can help them better.

Why place a ban? It just seems like a waste of coding time to place a ban on a group because someone didn't log in during that time span. As mentioned the simple solution is to branch out and see who is active and join them. I just do not see the usefulness of having to code in a ban.

I agree the TLT. There is no reason to code a recruitment ban/block.

HOWEVER,

I'm sure there are guilds in this game that have been inactive for some time. I wouldn't mind seeing a cleanup of these guilds.
