This tactic, of 'gifting' a high-value ship then ravage and/or ambush it to burn a purse, has been done already : and was considered to be outside the rules of the game. On that basis, I dont see it being made 'official' with its own card.

If that is your intent, than this is a -1000. Why would they put such an abusive card in the game? Way to OP.

It carries merchant causes + pirating. It isn't called "Good Merchant Gift." As well, there is a max, etc. But, I do see some of the things that may cause this to be TOO op if the ship doesn't sink. Changing Description.

Even if that, that is a max of 5 hits on a SoTL OR only 371.25k gold lost off of ship tail plunder. That is not over OP by any means in my book.

I think the idea is interesting. I already thought of doing this without voodoo, but as Danik said, that was considered to be outside the rules. I think it should not be limited to level 1, though. Oh, and it's powerful, so should it be rare, or does it need to be legendary?

One more thing: I've also thought about the exact same idea, but in my head, the card had a different name: "Troyan Horse" :-)

I really like the name, it ties in perfectly. But, legendary cards aren't made yet and honestly I have no idea if they will be made or when, so I won't count on them.

even as a relative new player i have figured out that this game is of check and balances. a card that makes a player defenseless will not make it. a card that let stuff be done on the cheap won't make it.
sometimes players find ways use use cards in a more clever than intended way, and that is ok, but -as far as i know- no unbalanced card has been added. this card should be balanced by an incubation period of an hour to allow the target to react. these cards and hours should be stacked with a limit of four cards to one player max.
for true gifting this would be no problem, for abusive use an calculated risk, will the receiver or his guild mates do something to protect these gifts during the incubation time and defuse the unwanted gift/ attack?

i fear that this card, in a well balanced way, adds to the 15 for one credit pile

Well, it may be a powerful rare card, but it's expensive and difficult to use with a profit. Against the right target, though, it would be truly great. I like the idea. The "tail ship strategy" needs another counter strategy, and this card could be part of such a strategy. Oh, and Danik: I think it's a difference doing this with a rare.card, and doing it by... well, breaking the rules.

Agreed. I honestly find the card perfect for the ideals of a pirate. Requires a lot of input, risk, and determination, and has a possibly of great reward.

As well, good for ship trading.

I agree with Danik on this Haron. If the action is against the rules, suggesting a card that does that action still would be against the rules. Furthermore, if the card is created and approved, the action without the card cannot be considered a violation of the rules anymore. You can't create double standards within the game.

I wholeheartedly disagree, DexNutz. Just because something is illegal to do one way, does not mean that every way to achieve that has to be illegal. There are several means to get to the same end. Some paths may be illegal, others legal. Even today, there are several things which is possible to achieve in many different ways; yet some of those ways are illegal, while others are legal.

Nevertheless, this is apowewrful card. I think it has to be legendary. That would also automatically limit it's use, and also make it harder to use with a profit.
