Oh, I was very dissatisfied with my ex country Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, because I had to go to public schools (ordinary and the music school in the same time, even I never wanted to make career in playing piano or being opera diva), to go to public college and faculty of architecture, that were all paid by the state and beside that, used grants too.

I was very dissatisfied with fully provided health services too… NOTHING to pay for it. I was also very dissatisfied with my parents (both of them high educated) working time (8 hours /day – from 7am to 3pm or 8am to 4pm- of work and after that, not thinking more about job before next working day, but spending time with family and friends, going to cultural manifestation, watching American, Russian, British, French, Chinese, Japanese, Italian… or Yugoslav cinematography on TV or cinema, reading and studying WORLD history and culture, not only about OUR ‘’magnificence’’ State, joking, thinking only about themselves and their personal satisfaction).

Ohh, I was dissatisfied too, having passport which was welcomed in almost all part of the world in the time of cold war, because we were part of Non-Aligned movement. I was very dissatisfied with our socialist self-management were working people decided about future of their companies and have equal share in value of them.

Also, I was displeased with our human rights (especially workers, children’s and women’s rights) and never seeing anyone that looks for food in garbage containers, or not having place to live.

And I was very displeased with our tyrannical leader Josip Broz TITO because he was a great international player, welcomed to East as well as West and our State being a very good friend with African and Midle East States, as one of the founder of Non-Aligned movement.
I really was displeased with my life and I happily welcomed help of West Imperialism to implement DEMOCRACY in my ‘’poor and totalitarian state’’. I was delighted when war started (after big help of our friends), because Yugoslavia was lock on for implementation of that democracy, so it was doomed to failure.

Ohh and when we have been bombed I was full of joy, because it was action of Clinton and Blaire administration called ‘’Merciful angel’’ all that civil victims… cassette bombs, depleted uranium sent by our NATO friends to make our life worth of living, democratic and rich and of course to make the largest NATO base in Europe (Bondsteel in Kosovo). And btw, it was international law precedent to give Kosovo independence… but our imperialist friends know the best for us.

Yep, the life here, now is the best. I am working, not one, but two jobs as a some kind of freelancer (happy to have job which I am qualified for, because many others work whatever they can). Yep, we still have paid health and pension insurance, still have paid elementary and high school education and partially university education. But our quality of life cannot be compared with the time when we lived in socialist self-management regime or ‘’totalitarian regime’’ as was said by our West friends… WE HAVE DEMOCRACY AND CAPITALISM!!! YEEE! And, btw, we are going to be new member of NATO soon!
All my dreams come true! yuck

It won't work in America, I don't really talk about Europe because it is different over there.

Socialism doesn't work in America? Then, what do you call the Social Security System?

You should do your research before making goofy statements:

Modern day Social Security in the US is a social insurance program designed to pay retired workers a continuing income through payroll taxes on active workers. Social Security is a LAW signed into existence on 8-14-1935 by FDR, after passing voting with in both houses of congress. It is not owned by the US Government. In fact, just the opposite can be claimed as workers have paid in excess funds amounting to close to $3T US, which have been invest in US Treasury notes. Therefore, it is clear the Social Security Trust Fund is a major stakeholder in the US. It is simply a trust fund funded by the workers of the US for retirees, therefore if anyone owns Social Security, it is the citizens (working and retireed) of the US.

The Social Security Act of 1935 is socialism at its purist. The working citizen and retireed citizens are the public, collective, cooperative owners of the Trust fund. Period!
