BMW, I am richer than you are for sure, look at your 497 voodoo chest. I never ran out, I invested. I can go right now and buy some raiding voodoo, but then again as I stated before above, what is the better choice?

Be a pirate living off of chances of profit, or a steady flow of cash that will outgrow my pirating profit eventually?

Aye if anyone plays for the fun of being a pirate, I ain't criticizing. It is fun.

Yeah, the merchants make more money, no doubt. Yet, that is as it has to be. The pirates are just there to make life interesting for the merchants - wouldn't it be boring with risk free trading?

The even harder part is that of the Naval Combat Solutions Provider, though. Yet, as the game is about having fun, and not gathering the biggest pile of gold, I consider my path to be the most successful of all :-)

Exactly! If you have fun being a pirate, then go ahead, it is much more fun than being a merchant. But if you prefer a progressive gold streak, trading is the way. It is all about game style.
