New Tech : Open Hire

Prerequirement
Level 20 officer contract

Each week you get a free officer of your choice. (When on the hiring screen it shows that the officers are free, after a number of buying of free it will not longer be free. And also the free hire can stack to a maximum of 50 hire.) Each level higher gives you one more free hire each week.

Cost
8 Mill + 4 Mill each level higher
100 credits

Duration to level up
30 days, doubles each level higher. (30 days, 60 days, 120 days, 240 days.)

With both a leveled building and the education tech the time can be lowed easily. Also makes education and building leveling worth it.

It took some time to think of it but I think its not that powerful.

Hmm, not sure I understand this correctly. Because if I do, then with a level 20 of this technology, you could get 20 captains for free each week?

Yes but you would need a lot of time, money and credits to get there and you wouldn't be able of get there any time soon.

If you got idea on how to improve it, let me know.

It's just... well, the price of captains is the only limiting factor for traders. That NEEDS to be strict. Giving captains away easier is not a good idea, in my opinion.

Today, getting from 500 to 600 captains would cost over 500 M gc. With level 20 of this tech, you get that in 5 weeks. 20 more weeks, and you have 1000 captains - while getting from 600 to 1000 captains would otherwise cost you over 3,5 B gc. The cost of captains needs to stay high to be a limiting factor for the size of traders, in my opinion.

Sounds fair but can increase the cost.
Maybe 8 mill + 30 mill each level higher.

Even with a much higher cost, I think I would oppose this suggestion. Eventually, this would give long time players who are traders a huge amount of captains, and the ability to operate trade armadas unheard of today. 1 year is 52 weeks - which is 1040 captains with level 20 of this tech. Compare that to what it would take for Dungeness to rise from his 1000 captains to 2000 captains today. This "one-time" cost in order to get that many free captains is not a good idea, I think. Oh, I can see several suggestions that benefit traders as being good for the game, but this is not it, I think. The captains should remain the limiting factor in trader growth.

I agree with Haron. The return on investment is way too high. -1

btw this would take 84 years to get level 10 and 86 thousand years for lvl 20. lol
Even if no one could complete it it's still a bad idea.

So we know Gulere is no mathematician because he butched this one up in terms of leveling up duration! I mean level 4 is 75% of a year and level 5 is a year and half! so if the Pharoahs developed a game like this and my ancestor at the time was playing it, I will have to inherit is so that my great great grand children can reach level 20!
