How come many countries in Europe are able to provide free college, but yet retain a much smaller economy than ours. Countries like Norway, Sweden, and Germany are not even close to our income. USA has a top 5 GDP making us FAR richer than the countries above. That is just ridiculous you think adding a few free tuition colleges with ruin us.

It might not single-handedly take it down, but it's the hop before the skip and jump. Colleges depend on the money coming in for a large part of their funding and without that coming in and institutions set in place not being able to function, the quality of education goes down. If college debt is so bad, you could assume it's for the poorer people of the nation. 81% of people who got bachelor degrees the past few years came from above-average families vs the 7% of the bottom-tier families. It's not because they don't have the money, but because they have no idea how to enroll, navigate their way around once they are there, and lack the skills that most college graduates have when they leave high school. It also would only make college "free" for the people attending but more for others paying their taxes. Even if it was offered have fun passing it.

Your argument has nothing to do with intuitions that are free. You still admit that there are bottom-tier families who have a hard time with tuition.

Regardless, how did this thread turn into a political thread. Stop trying to change topics.

They don't have a hard time with tuition compared to their unpreparedness for college. Making it free would do more harm than good but you can only think of all the money you think you'd be saving. Taxing like "Robin Hood" wouldn't affect "THE TOP ONE PUHCENT OF THE TOP ONE PUHCENT" but 50% of Americans. Part-time professors would lose their jobs. More applicants would mean the lower-tier that you seek to help would most likely be turned away more because everyone is applying, meaning they either go without college or go to an even more expensive private university. Sorry bub, you just got berned.

I believe a good chunk of the us budget goes to the military. the listed countries don't maintain as large a military as we do. not to mention we also pay our politicians far too much in my opinion.
Edit- also forgot a good chunk goes to social security.

And going to college is a privilege not a right... The last thing we need is a bunch of entitled gender study majors racking up the national debt because they want to waste their lives as an art teacher in elementary school. ;)

I want to stay out of this, because it is pretty much a forum hijacker hijacking his own thread. But, every human is entitled to education. You are wrong.

Yea, he wants to stay out of it when he starts to see the storm coming and himself in a 99% damaged howker. I'd really like to ask how I'm wrong or is that your way of backing out without admitting you are? Bye bye New-Player Contest, I'm not paying for you anymore.. We had some great times. We even got recognized by the game admin. I just can't afford to keep you here while still growing. I hope we can resume you later.. farewell friend.

oh gender studies is one of the most ludicrous things I have ever heard of. i prefer mathematics myself, especially accounting. math doesn't change much thankfully. unlike science which is always advancing, and history which is always growing. though history is another favorite subject of mine.(albeit not a lot of job opportunities for a major in history that i know of, still neat learning it.) but honestly chin, there exists MANY programs and methods to help people through college, such as loans, grants, scholarships,
