Sorry, but adding this would remove the unique abilities of the game, and turn it into a cookie cutter freemium game. -1.

Guluere wrote:I had a thought on this for quite sometime now (hopefully no trolls will come and ruin this).

My thought was have every port to have 10 sectors and each sector will have an important building there that will supply resources, like a fish port on one sector will give X food every min or so to your ware house.

A factory that will give you X gold coins every hour and so on.

The next thing is that, how do one take control of a sector, well, I was going and thinking on, that a war will take place, lets say, you hire 1 mill people to protect this sector of the port and you can also hire crew from other ports and dump them on to a sector to protect it.

And when someone attacks the sector, he will need an army ready, which I was thinking of just have you hire them and call them to attack.

The port with the most sector owned by the person of the nation, eg. 7 spain : 2 Midway : 1 Egypt. Spain owns the port.

Population of the target port will also play a roll and so on.

Give me your opinion on this, and please, for the love of god, don't ruin this for me.

Also, to make it so that a problem will not happen, the lower the population of the port, the more expensive it is to hire more "army".

Now it is becoming more like a game of thrones rather than a pirate game. Pirates don't go far from shore sir!
If this was a raid prt suggestion, I could understand it but this it a definite no.

+1. while most people dont like so called "freemium" games.... think about it. You can still buy voodoo to smash to death an entire port... Black Deaths still effect populations, as do Transport Immigrants... with the already in place features and options, i think that it balances it self out... as for "freemium" you have no idea what it means... this game is not freemium. Its a pay to win game.... a couple hundred US dollars and all shall fear you.

Guluere wrote:Note, the hired people will also add to the total daily upkeep as crew.

So, if you have 1 mill people protect a sector, and each crew cost 5 gc on daily up keep, you will need to pay 5 mill each day.

Because of the new law that was added where nobles or whatever will get money daily, it means that a nation can support you by giving money to daily to maintain your army on a port or two, which means that it will work out for this as well.

I know that some of you will or may not like it, but maybe in the future sooner or later, something similar will or has to be added.

Happily, possessing wealth is no reliable indicator of skill or smarts : unless being born to the right parents counts as such : equally, we have some scarily proficient players who spend not a bean here. As ever, it aint what you got, its what you can do with what you got that makes the difference between folk.

Guluere, just because you say this must be implemented in some form or fashion doesn't mean it actually will. I agree to some point with the fact that ports need to have more of a "battle" than just influence and voodoo, but this is most definitely not what we need. At all. Some of the buildings you mentioned completely take away from some game mechanics. "Gives food every minute." Oh, so now we won't need ports to sell food! What's next, in a sector you can hire a food vendor from Goroum to come to Aiora and sell food for x minutes?

BTW....

Yeah, this is just like that, and remember how you ruined that for me? Yah, -1.

+1, anybody can get anything they want here, it isn't freemium. However, you can get it faster, get more of it, etc. from buying credits- equaling a pay2win game.
