[HELM Festival] Skirmish Challenge (Completed)

Postby Sir Henry Morgan » Tue Jul 05, 2016 10:32 pm

This be a brand new challenge, mates, open to one and all. It is different than the last, so read carefully and make certain ye understand.

The challenge be to skirmish a gold bar fleet from your target, which will be announced.

Skirmish Challenge Rules

1.) Only one skirmish attempt per person (includes fleet escapes). More than one disqualifies ye from the challenge.

2.) There will be more than one member of HELM who's gold bar fleet ye be lookin' for. Your targets for the day will be announced after the update, so ye won't know who to skirmish until after that announcement.

Keep in mind, these HELM members volunteered to take part, so respect the fact they be workin' to help make the celebration fun for more people.

PRIZES: Only one prize per day. For the getting' the highest bounty from a successful skirmish, there will be a 1 million gold coin prize.

However;

for the FIRST person to find a gold bar fleet from HELM targets, and wins the skirmish, a grand prize of 25 million gold coins will be awarded.

Make this an honorable and chivalrous event - if things go well, with several people able to participate, and no one spoilin' the party, we will do this again. Pick your target fleet and take your one shot, then let the next bloke give it a try.

Let's give it a go - watch for the announcement after the update!

Heheheheh! No one said the weather wouldn't turn, eh? Ah well.

We tried.

Thank ye all, for testin' me mettle. There really be no such thing as a fair challenge. My end wasn't fair due to the odds of even findin' a gold bar fleet especially with only 5 skirmishes available per day. Yet I be bested!

Thank ye for what ye have done to help us celebrate 3 years as HELM!

Sorry that the festival's fun was cut short. Obviously we have some immature players that refuse to understand simple rules and who abuse a fun game just to get a shot at a big prize.

damn I was looking forward to participating. although you did forget to mention no voodoo in the rules this time, even if it should be rather obvious.

Mates, we be playin' a game - aye, the no-voodoo rule was an over-sight by me - that said, the voodoo cast was craftily applied to help find and reveal where the gold bar fleet may be without causing any danger, loss or harm - to be honest, it was really quite clever and amusing! There be no hard feelings - I am honored to have seen the activity of a worthy and honorable old adversary (and ally) once again!

In spite of the voodoo, there was alot of competition and while the gold bars were not found, the fleet destined to transport gold bars was found...without voodoo by a crafty captain who probably had studied the gossip page for some time - another old honorable adversary and ally.

Regardless, it was fun and rowdy! Five different people managed to strike a fleet before I could get the announcement up to cancel the challenge (Less than 5 minutes), which means there were several ready. (I am just glad I went first rather than one of my guild mates - I wouldn't be very popular.) All who skirmished received a prize for helping celebrate HELM's 3 years in Avonmora.

It goes to show - ye never learn it all, no matter how long ye be here!

There still be a prize to be had for the oldest Ship of the Line in Avonmora - actually, 3 prizes. Entries are due by Day 1400, so if ye haven't joined the parade, don't wait around.

Thank you, Avonmora! On behalf of HELM, we be glad to be here!

May the winds be ever in your favor!
