It is manipulation because you lost nothing but fame which is useless and commandeer which is a card that just piles up because you rarely use it. You did this with the intent of getting back your valuable ships for only losing things that aren't too expensive or important

Hey,what if the player has a mindbar up and sells the ships?
What if the player has countercourse and i fail one of the 5 commandeer then i can't get back a ship.

Not only do I lose fame (not needed),gold (can't have enough),voodoo, ships and it's because this is based off hard luck.

Now,CJ and I have debated about this for more than a simple week or two. Not surprised if he doesn't post here. Also, begore you say that more choose yes over no (not directed to you)take into consideration you only support the other 71% what about the other 31% of us who see it as fair play.

I think its a legitimate strategy. you have no way of knowing if your going to succeed in the plan. I suppose before you attempt it, you can send a few test voodoo on the target to check for mindbar and countercurse, however then you need to make sure you don't have enough gold to prevent plunder(the easy part since you can deposit it all) and you also need to make sure your fleet loses the battle, which could be done by selling all the cannons, so they are guaranteed to lose.
considering how much planning and work it would take to maximize success, i think it is perfectly acceptable.

I don't think anyone can sell it or anything in the time you can withdraw. It's still manipulation because you attacked it knowing you would lose just to not have to get a greater loss of gold later. Delrio said he had 5 tabs open, one of them can be ready to withdraw the money with a click. Still manipulation: you lose nothing valuable

Lol...withdraw the gold when the ships are gone is not helping.

You don't risk getting plundered without the gold after that on your other fleets, and you can't be blacklisted effectively if you withdraw it so basically what you are doing is giving them a fleet for 5 otherwise useless cards and a few thousand fame. The strategy would be to drop your gold down to 0 and lose your ships but keep your gold, I think that purposely doing it to get back the ships with no danger is manipulation. If you intended to lose the ships but save gold I think it's fine. Delrio really is a class A cheater

commandeer are not that cheap. average 3 creds each, so that's 15 creds to take back a fleet, plus all the prep work I mentioned would make this strategy only really useful if you have a fleet with really high danger. but I'm curious what Captain Jack has to say about this.
