Yes, and with this post, calculating the Base speed and current speed of every ship is possible. Done, check.

Please, could we get some similar clues to combat?

Is the requirement for a cannon to hit that it's attack roll is greater than the defenders armor class, for instance? Any clue at all? I'm trying to backwards engineer this, but it's quite hard with so little info, and arranging battles is illegal, so I can't do controlled experiments either. SOME clue as to how naval combat works, apart from which parameters affect attack/defence/damage/damager reduction, would be very nice to have.

What is the final measurement of the speed calculation? Like, knots per hour or something?
Also, how does one use this formula with no numbers, all I can find is the ships speed rating of slow, fast and such, I can get the crew and sails, but no other numbers, is the travel calculator some how involved in this?

It doesn't really matter, but the base speed is likely kilometers per hour. If you calculate it in knots (nautical miles per hour), the base speed for a cutter would be comparable to today's high performance, precision-built speed sailing ships. Although nautical miles do make more sense when looking at distances between the ports.
