If this was implemented, overbids should be at least ten percent, as it is today. So, after a 1 credit bid, minimum bid is 1.1 credit.
More precise pricing is only one of the benefits (as I see it) from this. I think the more important benefit is the possibility for the system to "tax" credit transactions, thus removing credits from the system, and sustaining a demand for credits to be bought.
The "precise pricing" part I can achieve in the "grey market" though more cumbersome means, offering gc to those buying my ships for instance.
Ideally, though, I think the voodoo market should be more like the real world stock market, where one can put sell and buy orders. There was also a suggestion once to implement "companies", with tradable shares, giving dividends. Having a smaller currency would probably be a good idea if that was to be implemented.
If this is not considered a good idea by most, well, fine, of course. But the claim that this would be the same thing as making everyhing worth 100x as much is plain wrong. If something is worth 2 dollars, it's also worth 200 cents, but it's still worth the same
