SSTG/Bermuda will no longer be a whipping boy.

To all Pirates Glory players,

It is our goal in SSTG and in Bermuda to get along with as many people as we can. We try to be respectful if others will simply give us respect. It is not our ambition to be hostile towards others or to be bullies. However, there has come a time when we simply must say enough is enough. Over the last 6 months we have been attacked what could only be described as an unacceptable amount of times. Because of this we have come up with the following policy concerning those who would attack us. We will now be issuing bounties on people for heavy hostility towards Bermuda or voodoo attacks on SSTG members.

There are 3 basic forms of attack; skirmish, plunder when on the plunder board, and voodoo attacks. I will first address the skirmish and plunder attacks.

If a player attacks us enough to gain 150 hostility points with Bermuda we will consider this person an enemy of the nation. This is twice as much as it would take for a citizen of Bermuda to be kicked out of the nation. We feel this is a reasonable number to start with. Bounties will be placed in the following formats.

Hostility points
150 points
Skirmish Win Bounty 20,000 gold
Plunder Win Bounty 40,000 gold
Hostile Waters Bounty 50,000 gold

200 points
Hostile Natives 25,000 gold
Fujitive from Justice 100,000 gold
Lazy Craftsmen 25,000 gold
Hands of Gold 25,000 gold
Swarm of Worms 50,000 gold
Expensive Tools 25,000 gold

250 points
Plunder Win 100,000 (in addition to the first bounty of 40,000)
Blacklist 200,000

400 points
Case by case situation, Use of more severe voodoo bounties including levis, assassins, Magpies, Time Spirals, Sabotage etc...

In some cases the bounties would not be effective on certain players, we will look at those on a case by case situation. The above is our guidelines we will use, but it is only a guideline and we are not restricted in our actions by it.

In the case of those who have over these amounts of hostility points at this time, we will send letters offering a period of grace allowing the hostility points to fall below 150 points. These agreements will be uniform with all falling into that category, but will be kept private.

Voodoo attacks
These attacks will be looked at on a case by case situation. If someone cast harmful or probing voodoo on us we will put up appropriate voodoo bounties. In some cases we may decide to use voodoo ourselves in response.

From this point forward we will be responding to voodoo attacks and excessive attacks on our people. We still understand attacks are part of the game. We just will not be the whipping boy for people any longer.

I think a large part of the problem comes from nation missions. As Bermuda has the most fame, all of their players give 5 ranks when completing the nation missions, plus whatever ranks they give for being on the top of a nation's hostility reports. I don't think people are just attacking you for no reason, but rather because they need to to gain nation ranks.

yeah it really helps rank up 5 points a win, not to mention we gain hostility even for fighting NPCS' of a nation, so the attacks on you probably are not due to ill malice, but for mission convenience, much like how it is a common mission to use black death on a port.

Ahoy Avonmora,
and to the ones who roam in darkness.

Mr Kart,

I find your nation/guild actions irrelevant. Of course the bounty board is there for a "good" reason and so is the skirmish system. However, THEY are to be used for purposes of which the citizens of Avonmora can also benefit. Along with these benefits their should and will be disadvantages, your so call "New Law" Sir is unethical. If you or any other one wants to point out why this is going to be an effective way to counter piracy then please, feel free to debate with me.

Thanks.

What you are doing Kart could spell disaster, others could end up retaliating as major as your retaliation. And since you are spilling out that you are going to be giving out bounties on anyone who has these hostility points against your nation. They would know who placed the bounties against them, and its true you do get hostility points for just attacking an NPC and it would not surprise me that I would have hostility points against your nation.

For those who are worried about the NPC attacker being targeted, part of our system is to check points against actual attacks on our members and citizens. I will not give away all of our procedures here, but he assured we do not want to go after NPC attackers if we can avoid it.

As for those who think we are being harsh...we have been treated harshly. We are still having people using probing voodoo preparing attacks on us. How do we know they are preparing attacks? We know by experience.

To the comment about people knowing we are placing bounties on them, that is our intention. It would not be much of a deterrent if no one knew about it.

Will some challenge us concerning this? I am sure of it. We knew this going in and are willing to face that possibility. There comes a time when you get tired of people taking your lunch money and you have to stand up to them. This is the first phase of us standing up for ourselves. Those who do not want us to stand up for ourselves must be wanting to attacks, why else would they object to us standing up for ourselves.

We seek no enemies, we have even waited to let as many people drop below the 150 point as we can. The problem is while we seek no enemies, others seek to do us harm.

As far as NPC targets each rank which is available to obtain through NPC requires 50 points max. With each attack person gains 10 points of hostility so just to pass mission by attacking our NPC fleets will give you 100 points which means you are already under 150 points of hostility. So as far as mission requires you can do them and still not be target of our bounty, So further discussion about mission and hunting NPC fleet is dissmised

well then just go after people that attack you maliciously, not just everyone that goes above 150 hostility points

I will not go into details, but let me say this. We are watching out for the "innocent" ones, those who try to claim innocence and are not will be seen for what they are. As I stated we are not looking to make enemies, only defend ourselves from those who would make themselves enemies. So far we have had no one complain who are innocent of hostile intentions. We have only had those who would speculate complain. Maybe they are speculating because they would like for us to remain as a whipping boy for others.
