Ships Market will be implemented first. Hideout Shipswright will be follow.

I have update the first post with all the latest details which reflect our final decision for Ships Market Version 1.0

Important points:
-No limitations on SoLs/MoWs
-If you put a ship on sale, its final, you cannot cancel it (to prevent cheating)
-As further anti-cheating meters, players will have access to a report menu like in voodoo cards.

When you purchase a ship through the ships market will it be as if you use a commandeer card, in that you do not have to hire a captain immediately? Or, will this be like building a ship and you have to obtain a captain before you purchase it?

To reduce ships being stolen then sold such as Ship Of The Lines/Man of Wars how about : Player's can only put 3 ships in a ship market every 7 days/at once?

Maybe same with buying ships? You can only buy 3 a week?

Also another question...
- Does the money when you sell a ship go straight to your bank or your current gold account? I think gold account would be risky : Lets say you are not here, then goes in your purse( Lets say a mow )... It gives us pirate a chance for once...
Civilian:Are you insane? One pirate against trained pirates... Who do you think this man is? God?
My Leader: No. God would have mercy. He won't.

The captain issue is a complicated one. Right now, the only check is done on the shipwright. On commandeer and plunder no checks are run. This allows expansion beyond the captain count which is an acceptable method as at one hand we reward plundering with an extra way and at another commandeer is a limited card.

For market, it does not sound like a good idea not to count the captain. The problem is when to count it? At the bidding phase or at the pickup phase? And what if someone does not pick it manually and the time to deliver it arrives?

Another problem is why one should have a captain when they are not going to use the ship but sell it?

This creates the necessity to have one check for all cases and this check must be on the fleet level. When you try to put a ship on a fleet, it will require a captain. It is only logical after all.

I understand this is a change that need to be communicated before implemented. Therefore I will announce it now and we will put it in the next Avonmora Herald issue. We need to allow some time to everyone to adjust to the change, so expect about 15 days before this changes. Ships market will most probably be released much sooner than this.

I personally don't have problems now but bigger players will have if the captain counts so it would need change not to count captains or major reduce on captains price. What I would like to recommend on this thing is why not put some kind of limit like captains will be counted until player don't hire some number of captains like 50. Or building special building which would allowe player to train captains instead of buying one. like lvl 1 would allowe player to train 5 or 10 captains etc.

This is in fact a good timing to enforce this change as only a few players will be really affected. Plus, we won't affect already sailing ships as a bonus.
The captains are an element that has been added to control the expansion of players which was too fast.

The cost of the 1000th Captain is 12.6M so its not completely unrealistic for some to buy up to a certain point. In fact, some players might make this as a daily profit so its not that unrealistic for them. There is also the bribe card.

What more can we do? We are willing to listen any good idea but nothing too drastic.

yes but my concern is plundering ships. Why? well if we can't use ships unless we have captains then what's the point of getting ships when we see chance on plunder board as if that player is active and lose ship he can use comandeer card and then what's the point of plundering if that person get's that ship back with card? attacker is in biggest disadvantage that way. Again I might be wrong. I just can't see any improvment in the game that way I can see disadvantages only. I know and I agree it is daily income of some players but most don't have that much trade ships and plundering/ skirmishing don't bring that much coins to be profitable without huge ammount of voodoo cards.

Commandeer has served long well as a trading ships card but this also needs to come to an end. This card's initial role is different.

It will come to an end because it is a poor way to trade ships eventually as the overhead cost is important. I understand that buying ships (via commandeer) currently does evade the captain cost. This however is not going to get you as many buyers as the ships market will, given that you are interested to sell ships.

The end buyer will have to choose if he wants to spend his turns in building ships or doing anything else. Trust me, this is a higher inceptive from the buyer than the captain cost. At least, for the normal users. Power users will find the way in the end like they always do. We are not here to stop them.

I do not understand this, how this is going to be a disadvantage?
Regarding payment, that's something we have not given a thought yet. It makes this uneasy for gold payments. Even if banks can play this role, bank accounts have limitation and it could create issues. One easy way to fix this is to have the money kept by the market till the seller picks them up. It could be mandatory to pick them before even viewing the market.

Or perhaps we could skip the gold coins cost altogether and remain with credits. Then add to banks the ability to exchange credits to gold. It sounds better.
