Pirates were famous for being infamous. Let's not ruine everything. The last thing we want is having pirates casting undercover voodoo. Except fame you have nothing to lose. New implements are coming to help pirates. Fame is ok as it is. lol

Your completely off the point of this topic. I never suggested changing th fame formula Roileon did. I am suggesting a new stat that tracks how infamous a pirate, or any other player who makes a profit from plundering is based on the amount of attacks performed each day. Re-read the first post so you have an idea of what this is about.

I don't agree with the first lines of your post Drake. The fame mechanism isn't pushing pirates to merchant direction. Pirates should have no fame since then they can cast undercover voodoo. I said it before, but i'll repeat myself, pirates have nothing to lose, so there should be something. That's fame and incapability of casting undercover voodoo. I like the idea though of having a trophy for pirates that does skirmish attacks. That could be 10 M for every 100 skirmish attacks, since they lack in gold. But i disagree with pirates having fame. Then the game will be pushing traders on becoming pirates. I guess your thoughts should keep balance between pirates and merchants. That's what the game needs right now. Balance!

Not talking pirates having fame lol. In my scenario fame mechanics do not change. Players would earn a different stat for attacking another player. The more attacks performed the higher the rating. Each day a percentage is lost (or fixed amount). To remain at the top of this particular stat board requires constant raiding every day. Which would show the most aggressive players, ie. "pirates" (but could be anyone). Giving a feared title to achieve and maintain for the non passive.

Thus creating a new ventured interest in attacking and creating more aggressive players.

(now I left out "infamy" and went with "stat" in hopes no one else gets confused between them)

That what you refering already excists in total battles. A reward for that could be placed but needs work on what that would be. I just focused on your first lines. So, excuse me if i missunderstood. :)

No it doesn't, total battles is not a fluctuating stat that goes down and needs to be maintained.

Total battles only shows longevity, not daily aggression towards plundering players.

Captain Drake, the game is currently facing many probs with fishing, skirmishing, pirating, trading, gold bars and many other stuff. I suggest you to read the forums of the past few months and think of the priorities of the game. Your idea could be a good thought but still needs work. We should work, to restore balance as i said before, instead of having more new ideas. I would like submarines but that aint gonna happen now. Maybe you could work on that and suggest a complete formula for your thoughts. Until then i don't think there should be more talking on this subject.
