It can be published tomorrow, so it has been left for tomorrow. It helps in having some articles ready for the next day.
I will share some of our thoughts for the Herald:
-All we need is about 2 dedicated players. Then 3 more to fill in their boots when they are not around. Only in this way we will avoid automated Herald which is at one hand an easier task but not as beautiful.
-The daily time needed for quality articles, is about an hour max. We are trying to reduce this now.
-The initial journalists will be mainly used to find these 5 people. Then, it will no longer be our work to assign them but the publsher's work.
-The influx of articles later has been increased. This is good for everyone. Ocassional articles submited by many can help.
-There is always the solution of newstitles, like Francois le Clerc does it in ABC news. Its a good way to feed news fast.
-We can create automated press releases that guild officers will be able to handle. This means, that the guild will chose what stats to feed to the Herald. The Herald then will choose what to show.
-A journalist/press represantive is something that all guilds could have regardless. They will work close with the Herald and will feed it news, views, politics etc.
-The Herald's already followed philosophy, is to publish interesting news for the many.We are after true events mostly. No political ties are fitting.
-Any political views, must always come with an author name.
-It seems that small articles work better than big too.
-Finally, we will create a small ruleset for the future player publisher, in order to avoid major abuse. Generally speaking though, the one publishing the paper will have the most powerful communication tool of the game in its hands. As long as it is in administration hands it is free by in-game influence. This is not expected to continue once a player gets it. So,yes, it will be a great tool but it will come with the price of maintaining it to an acceptable level.
