It is rumored that the Iron Bank is planning to reward its loyal customers with prior news of the destination port of the fleet 'Golden Bunny' which will deposit a consignment of gold bars into the market at a random hour, beginning on Saturday. It has been claimed that this is a shameless publicity stunt, a claim which the bank has refused to confirm or deny.

How long you think till they appear regularly on the market, by regular i mean where us non gold producing players can buy and sell to make a profit. Or, will that even be possible, to buy andsell and make a profit? Or you think profits will be limited only to the bar producers? I still have not seen any on the market, even though i hear they pop up

They "pop" up as that is the only way to exchange a black market deal. One party sells at a specified port and time and the other party buys it right away. Depending on the deal, the extra price is either paid before hand or after.

I do not predict bars showing up in the markets for average buy and sell for several more weeks. These bars are selling at premium prices. No one would give up that sort of profit in a hurry.

So when the market evets out then, would a regular player make good profits from buying and selling them?how would you set up your trade route, there is no option for buying gold bars instead of what the port sells. Unless you fill up your warehouse and set route to unload warehouse right? But then that would be too "manual", and require a lot of gold to keep your warehouse stocked. Well not rreally if you don't sell a whole lot. Just thinking through my fingers. What do you think about that?

LVl 3 goldsmith takes almost 100 mil gc investment to produce a GB that cost as much as the market will currently pay. If a lvl 1 or 2 goldsmith sells at current market prices, they are losing money. Not many have the gc and resources needed to get over that 'hump' so as mentioned, will be a while before there are gb out for sale.

I believe one of the planned features is to allow the shipping of gold bars as part of a fixed trade route : there was mention made of allowing you to set a price which would determine if you buy any gold bars on offer or the 'standard' produce in a port, likewise for selling/storing on arrival if importing GB's.

until then, its the unwieldy click-fest of manual transfers...

edit : you can send them on a fleet which already has a trade route set ; then set it store into warehouse at destination port, so that part can be automated ; but loading them is still manual which requires the fleet to be paused at the sending port.
