might get a bit random.. or so untrustworthy its not worth the effort ; there has to be a reasonable chance of accurate information : not sure how that could be programmed though.

This could be a pirate only feature - say if you fly the jolly roger, once a day, your mistress(es) will provide you with fleet information of possible targets.

Using parameters such as how many mistresses, the their moods and the levels of the mansion, a pirate can learn more specifics about specific fleet. (More mistresses that are infatuated with a pirate and his mansion, the more information he can gather through each of them.)

To make it valuable, a pirate coiuld chose from who he wished to gather information.

Vague could be:
Sir Henry Morgan has Trader fleet headed for Kanoni.

This would be basic for a level one mansion and one Mistress who is High on Life and at 100%.

For 20 High on Life Mistresses at 100% and a Level 20 mansion, complete information could be gathered, such as

"Sir Henry Morgan has Trader Fleet (#12345) made up of:
Level 1 Large Fluyt (#00001)
Level 1 Large Fluyt (#00002)
Level 1 Large Fluyt (#00003)
Level 1 Large Fluyt (#00004)
Level 1, Howker (#00005)
Running trade route from Kanoni to Baramas
Due to arrive in Kanoni.
Cargo - 500 units of Rum on board.
Trader Fleet has run this route for 32 days.

A pirate could gather quite a bit of information about fleets, which he could personally use or sell to persons to whom would be interested. Making it "pirate only" would be an excellent perk for piracy.

+1 to this being a feature for pirates. There are currently no real attractive, if any, perks to flying the black flag. Currently self proclaimed pirates run nations..... how realistic is that? The only reason is the perks to running or being a part of said nation. If there were more benefits to being a true pirate, such as the above listed idea and the new to come skirmish, many more players would be interested in the role of a pirate. In my opinion of course :).
