Not sure if do not quote me back means I can't say anything, Capt Jack, but if you wouldn't mind taking one of your admin accounts, turn on notitifications and having one of your minions hit either with quick repeated attacks or a bunch of spells and see if you can duplicate the problem?

What we experience is total freeze out--I'm online I hear a system beep, I click on it, and its 67 events already, I click again to see what events they were and another 46 happened, so over 100 events in what at my end was only 2 click and less than 2 seconds.

The person I was chatting to experienced the same slow down, freeze where they could not do any actions.

Anyway, its not just me, lots of people have told me the same thing happens to them. You may be absolutely right that its not a server issue per se, but its some flaw in the game and pretty big one if you ask me.

Till its identified and fixed, though, I don't think such "speed attacks" should be considered ethical.

"My Way"
Frank Sinatra

And now, the end is here
And so I face the final curtain
My friend, I'll say it clear
I'll state my case, of which I'm certain
I've lived a life that's full
I traveled each and ev'ry highway
And more, much more than this, I did it my way

Regrets, I've had a few
But then again, too few to mention
I did what I had to do and saw it through without exemption
I planned each charted course, each careful step along the byway
And more, much more than this, I did it my way

Yes, there were times, I'm sure you knew
When I bit off more than I could chew
But through it all, when there was doubt
I ate it up and spit it out
I faced it all and I stood tall and did it my way

I've loved, I've laughed and cried
I've had my fill, my share of losing
And now, as tears subside, I find it all so amusing
To think I did all that
And may I say, not in a shy way,
"Oh, no, oh, no, not me, I did it my way"

For what is a man, what has he got?
If not himself, then he has naught
To say the things he truly feels and not the words of one who kneels
The record shows I took the blows and did it my way!

Wait, on multiple occasions you said that fame didn't work properly and you even suggested a new system specifically for pirates. So we're all ok with fame.....

OMG--moral consistency in a bragalicous forum post?

Well it is, cause my own fame sucks as always, I'm like the second screen (yes with its 100+ members) here at Zom B.

Thank you for the opportunity to clarify that the "My" in "My Way" is a collective my for the whole guild. Those with long memories will recall us being dubbed, "The Rat Pack"--hence the Frank tune.

Viva Maj and Zom B!!!

Big Ups, Juicy, DTT, Trixi, Teach, B Cap, SSR and all others who stuck together through thick and thin.

this couldn't possibly be more true. but it was in reach, so why not play the hand we're dealt.

now seems a good a time, and more inappropriate place then any. the fame system is Completely wrong. more then half of the "most famous" on the top 20 first page have their fame from having very small and inactive fleets over very long periods of time, royalty bonuses etc.

battle, especially regular battle is disastrous for a players fame number.

case and point, GMBOGOH (#22035) and Katsoufo (#28992) at least yesterday were 1 and 2 on the fame list. does anyone outside of their respective guilds know much, or even anything about these players. i didn't even know Gmbogoh's name until he had the top spot on the leaderboard. they might be the best sort of people, but the word FAME kind of suggests that they are interacting with the player community, not turtling completely and waiting for 2 years of gradual improvement.

that being said, just because it's wrong, doesn't mean we aren't gonna celebrate it. it's an excuse to get rowdy and celebratory, like when we got 100 players, or Tuesdays.

Don't worry, our moral consistency remains locked in place. priority 1 is still the suffering of our enemies. but i've grogged up good and hard for much worse reasons then taking 1st guild in this obsessive little past time of mine.

Affectionately and Eternally Yours,
The Pirate Kings

Oh, and ps..."New Boss, same as the Old Boss?"

I think not. We merely want anarchy--way less intrusive than order:)

NAG (non aggression treaties) for both individuals and guilds, both public and secret, are available to all via Edward Teach, our diplomat.

We honor our treaties, and I think you'll find if you cut a side deal with us, you can go about your life here completely normally.

Even if you don't join up, you can agree to disagree with us. We don't require domination nor subserviance. We favor open seas and free trading/raiding.

For our friends in HELM and PK, I would heed this message clearly--the time for being on the sidelines is over. You either cut a quiet deal with us (don't worry, we'll make it look REAL good) or ...what, nothing. Like we said we are not bullies.

But if you stay in the "screw zom b or bust" camp, we will hunt you down hunger games style and see you roast on a spit.

Yours,

Cap[py

Doom asked for a synopsis of the war. I directed him to this thread. Here is quick little summation, but of course a lot more happend. To anyone I left out, sorry, not the definative history or anything:)

THE WAR OF WARS

Let’s see--been trying to unravel the series of events myself.

I guess when you left, Doom, you had just unleashed your epic dozen victim simul HN attack on HELM. We used the threat of the “Bear ZomB” to distract our opponents for a while, at the same time we were getting organized.

At one point it was basically Maj and I keeping the lights on...things looked bleak.

Then some new blood showed up, Trixi, Feldon and friends, who energized our daily operations. Maj and I ordered the existing troops while steady players like Shanks helped solidify the ranks. DTT returned.

We started doing joint raids with some of Fox, Juicy in particular. We took a bunch of Joe Boots ships, but then lost them all back.

This was kind of a turning point. Internally we had a major discussion about NOT to mess up our captial ship stealing raids. Juicy had the tactics down, but as a guild we were terrible about protecting our wins.

We developed a still ultra secret protocol, taking Juicy’s tactics and adapting them and extending there strategic impact. The first big example was probably Ticktock, who we hit and took a large number of capital ships. In order to set the tone, I publicly sold tick’s 60 point MOW on the forums.

I also engaged Rolando is a series of back and forth forum posts. The subject was paying for the game, and he admitted a certain amount of spending. I wrote that if spent that much, it might hurt my appreciation of victory. I could be wrong, but this seemed to take the starch out of Rolando and he basically vanished. Not a shot was fired.

Meanwhile Maj took a little breather and I got Juicy and SSR to rejoin Zom B. Teach and I and Juicy and DTT began a reign of terror--the birth of the “special squad.” We would pick up a jr member or two and do massive ship stealing raids on every enemy in the game. We took all the capital ships that were active in the game at the time, sold most, and held the rest.

HELM continued with there big long creaky attacks, but the frequency began to slack off as more and more members lost there fancy shiny attack fleets. Clearly low on cards, they began to shop at the auctions, where we cleverly were the ones selling offensive voodoo at offensive prices. Dungeness became quieter and less relevant.

Despite his predictions, Zom B actually thrived after cutting loose from his business. War was immensely profitable, to the point where most Zom B members have run out of ways to spend money.

Right now we are sort of chillin, laying down the law when we are attacked, but generally consolidating our victories. As of yet, we have made no public demands or set any laws, pretty much exactly how we said we wanted it--libertarian anarchy.

PK is in such ruins we’ve been running guided tours through the remains. Its a little like Saddam Hussein’s castle in there--dust, decay, ruin, a lot of old laundry and weird eye boobs.

Seems like the last remains of resistance are fleeing to HELM. Maybe we’ll make peace, maybe we’ll finish them off--we haven’t even gotten around to discussing it:)

Too much drinking of Rum and boozy toasts at the moment!!!!

Quite a synopsis.

This has filled me in adequately.

Thanks.
