I've never heard of that. I'm pretty sure all the beef I've ever bought at the store has been from the US probably either from my own state or one state away, but that's because they're cattle states. And there's plenty of grass fed options as well as variations in % fat. I don't know why anyone in the US, person or business, would buy Australian beef when we have perfectly good and much cheaper options right here in the US. I'm sure we purchase many imports from Australia but beef certainly isn't one of them

Your farts are contributing to global warming Dman, AOC missed the mark.

Lachlan I’ve had Australian beef however it’s okay. Nothing to brag about. Angus is good though. That’s everywhere where I live.

If we put 10 on your beef, it means you have 20 on ours.
But 10 percent with your current export numbers will be a nice sum for our government, and Mcdonalds can keep buying from you guys.
They don't even sell all-beef burgers, so I don't care if they water your burgers down. I rarely eat there.
I eat out at good food joints that almost rival the cost but have better food.

I heard that you guys like to buy our beef because ours are grass fed and taste slightly different to the beef you guys produce and that our beef is a bit leaner then american beef which tends to have a bit more fat.

I'm southern; we don't care much about grass-fed or lean.
Just fill the grill and put those burgers out.

angus is pretty good beef. Never had Australian beef before far as I know. I also hear Wagyu is super good, but I sure as hell ain't paying for it :D.

Though to be honest, much as I love beef, I think as I get older chicken is starting to appeal to me more and more. Cheaper, bit healthier, and just about as tasty. Pork Is fine, but I was never a giant fan of it. Always preferred beef or chicken.

Edit- also curious about trying goat meat, hear it's pretty popular in many places, so should be good. My dad said racoon tasted fine also, but I never tried it myself.

Wagyu is good but generally overpriced and only worth it for special occasions. And it is best prepared a certain way and not served with ketchup lol. I definitely prefer grass fed but nowadays we don't buy beef from the store we have a friend that has a farm and each year we buy a quarter cow from him. Usually lasts us the whole year. It's grass fed and it's definitely better that way, it's what cows are meant to eat and it's cleaner for the environment too. The cow farts are much less bad if they aren't eating corn

It's because cows produce a lot of methane from farts.

I think fast food chains like Mcdonalds like to buy Australian beef which is leaner and mix it with American beef which is more fatty and that supposedly produces better tasting beef patties when cooked.

They don't mix it with American beef and they certainly aren't a good testimony for Australian beef as what they buy is all the offcuts then grind it up with all the other chit they add for "healthy and preserved ground burgers."

As for methane, scientists discovered that feeding cows seaweed has an impact. Cows fed Asparagopsis taxiformis emitted over 80% less methane. In addition, a 2019 study focused on methane-producing bacteria in the cow’s stomach found that altering the bacteria mix also reduces methane production. I don't think we have enough red seaweed to feed all the cows, but like everything else we do as humans harvesting it would be worse on the environment than the cow farts and burps themselves.

Leo has been so full of chit throughout this topic I have no doubt he has released more methane than a million cows could :D :D :D
