Unlike zedumsky in Ukraine, Israel saw the merit in creating a deal with the USA by inviting us to
be partners in the development of their proprietary Iron Dome system ( we are leasing them the two we currently own)
So since 2014, we have been part of the research, development, and production of the Iron Dome.
This means we have a vested interest in Israel relating to our national security concerning those systems.
And that means they are a protected ally.

Since Russia’s February 2022 invasion, Congress has passed five major bills aiding Ukraine, which together amount to $175 billion in spending. Most of this is aid going to the government of Ukraine. Additionally, in December 2024 the U.S. provided a $20 billion loan to be paid back with interest from frozen Russian assets. The total amount of other aid committed to the government of Ukraine is $128 billion.

the 17.9 billion we have sent Israel is accounted for penny for penny.
Ukraine received more aid in this war than Israel has gotten combined since 1971 and that's numbers adjusted for inflation.
Until today I did not know we were involved in the Iron Dome as part owners and as such I see why we are funding them with the relatively low amount of funding compared to Ukraine.
Before today I would have said oh well let Israel whoop em ... now I say let's give em air support

Well that's the thing. I've heard a lot of people say that if they wanted to commit genocide they would be doing it faster and more effectively. But if they did that, wouldn't it then be viewed as genocide by most people and they would lose their support and probably their funding for weapons? So to their credit, if they wanted to commit genocide they are doing it perfectly. Fast enough to be effective but slow enough to convince everyone else it's not genocide. Obviously this is all up to speculation and we have no clue what Netanyahu's real motives are and we never will. Here's a map of Palestinian land over the course of half a century. I haven't checked into if any land has been given back yet but it is not a significant amount if it has.

I think if I recall correctly, the romans did rename that area as an insult to the jewish people who lived there, when they conquered the kingdom of Judea. I think they renamed it Palestine, but it might have been another name. They named it something different, and I think it was Palestine, but I may be misremembering. How do you prove something is yours? Because you bought it? Because a piece of paper says you own it? That's all swell and dandy until an army comes and takes it from you, then it's theirs.
