Would you play a second server?

I'm not a forum person. I've been a moderator in other games, the bitchiness and arguing between the kiddies is too much some times. I just came across this topic by accident. As a player in other games, by the game masters of this game, I can state that more servers dilute the player base. It kills off anything, especially games that are limping along as it is. I vote no to this. Some players, the die hards, they will stay, go through the daily motions just because they've already invested time. But they're not really playing anymore. What happens in a year or 18 months after starting a new server? The same, someone will start a vote, for a new server. It's a self perpetuating cycle that destroys games.

I do agree temporary death match servers would be a better way to go once we can get a sustainable player-base for it. I don't have a solution for that though. The server ended years before I joined is there a full post about how that server worked and what the differences and goals were?

There is a lot of argument here between the like 6 people that actually care about the future of this game, a noob that seems overly insightful and one player that rarely comments but has shown up for this. I guess on the rare occasion when i agree with danik the world falls out of balance and excess trolling is required to restore the status quoe

To awser this question. I would absolutely play on a second server if it provided a significantly different experience while also encouraging players on that server to join this game and help it thrive.

I would not play an identical restart of this game and i may even stop playing this game if that was developed.

In short another game thats increases interest here, yes
A game that is a fresh start of this exact game, no.

You wouldn't need to stop playing on this server if an identical server was started becau this server wouldn't exist. I doubt CJ is going to pay to keep a server running for a couple of people.

It seems most of you have played this game for years. I have played for a bit more than two months. For me, I know I will never overtake the big players, but that is no problem. What I do notice is that only a handful players show up on the gossip or plunder board. If I wasn't helped by some experienced players with funds to build up my first fleets I don't know if I would still be playing. Now I can support myself and give my own twist on how I want to play. A new server would probably be more wild west as people would be more comparable in strength. A more dynamic economy, where you risk losing investments and really need to keep checking where trade is most profitable would keep such a server interesting.

If it is a mirrored server..being that we are vets and already know the ins and outs of this server..we would be able to build up faster in a mirror server and squash you there too..Sorry. But some of us had to rebuild several times in this server alone.

My thing would there be different areas of play. If so yes I be interested.

And just to point out. No one is unbeatable here. Vets my have more resources. But in time a 1 year old player can beat a 10 year player. Just make a game plan. Remember this is a turn game. No one and I mean no one is unbeatable.

Buy back to the point I would play a second server if it held different game plays or things I could do
