Without trying to beat a dead horse....

@Captain Jack - Do you have an update as to where we are at with any of the proposed ideas? (Blockade, Plantations, Ship Abilities, Etc.)

Just curious as its been a few moons since we heard from you.

Thanks

If this is being implemented, will there be a way for a nation to block their own port for other players? I can see situations where I would like to keep my nations ports open to my nation exclusively, possibly also to allies. Or will blockades always be an attack on the nation of the blocked port?

I have one primary concern after reading through this, perhaps I can get some clarification.

As Suggested:
-Fleets in Blockades, cannot be attacked (plundered or skirmished).
-Non participants will not be able to use voodoo with either a fleet or ship target on fleets inside a blockade.

Now, given the fact it is also suggested that the Blockade is able to set the action to Free Pass, if read correctly this is for designated players, guilds, nations.

Would it not then be possible for a nation (or player of a nation) to create a blockade limit those allowed to side with them, apply free pass for all so no one would care to contest it (or too few to make a difference), Put in their best fleets while the rest of their guild, friends, nation add their best fleets then keep this up as a way to "hide" their ships from being targeted. I understand the 72 hour blockade time frame but this could be done every 3 days if im understanding it correctly.

I suppose they could but it's such a risky idea with little to no benefit for this to be a problem in my opinion. For starters it would tie up those fleets to where they end up doing nothing. Which would mean they are just sitting there and not generating profit. At which point, why don't the players just put said ships in their marina, or sell them off?

Now suppose it could be a way of protecting your fleets if you are at war perhaps for a short while, but it also has the downside of having ALL your best ships and fleets be at one port. And a pirate/enemy would know when the blockade would end and where it's at. What's stopping them from just time spiraling the blockade players to 0 turns 5 minutes before it ends, then raiding them the moment all their best fleets pop up in one spot?

If I understand it correctly.

The initiator is setting up the blockade, this can be in any port so your own nations as well. (Attacker is mentioned though I think this is just a discrepancy in wording.)

Defenders side, anyone can join. I believe this just means those protesting the blockade. Not the nation specifically who controls the port.

If im right Haron, you would be able to do exactly what your thinking here.
