MIAB been on hiatus... but stirred to life this morning as the editor's office was jam packed with citz crying and yelling about corruption and such ... and wanting the public to know of their plight .. So, here we go! Something is stirring in Tokelau. Seems all is not quite right.
Concerned citizens have contacted MIAB outraged at the goings on in Tokelau.
(I had to give them some of some left over Morgans rum to calm them down)... What is happening over there? We have sent our intrepid reporters to follow up on this breaking story and will bring you more news as it comes to hand
Workers starve whilst plantation owners & traders alike face bankruptcy as greedy Tokelau governor refuses to abide by minimum base price for tools at Baramas!!!
Details to follow.
'Greedy Tokelau governor' has the right to reply ofc... may settle down these angry and volatile citizens!!
Do we have the makings of a rebellion or even perhaps the very beginnings of a civil war?? What will happen?
Will the greedy Tok Governor see the error of his ways and explain himself ?
(All contributions to this scandalous event (and anything else) are most welcome - anon assured if requested)
I just finished the final roof tile for the rebuild of the "SHM Orphanage for Children Who Can't Read Good and Do Other Stuff Good Too", as most of you are aware, that September Storm was awful and the children needed a warm dry home so I am sorry for my late response, I guess I should have made the children sleep in the cold to answer why hammers in Baramas are 1 GC lower than other ports?
Its come to my attention, from a VUDU (known for truth telling) Pirate (Also known for the truth) media giant (don't get me started) suffering from a quiet news cycle, that my people are upset at the price Baramas Merchants are willing to buy tools for when 90% of the population produces rum and the remaining 10% provide the services for the rum produced. Doubt it!!!! I heard tales of these "Mostly peaceful" protests of 10 whole people trying to burn down the coconut tree on the beach next to the port. Strange, they all had bottles of Argo Rum in there hands... but i digress...
One thing left out of the "Exclusive Story" was the port wide sale the morrow after the Day of Thanks in November. You see we still had the fleet that Admiral Decker seized from the infamous Pirate Black Chops. 5 Ships packed with tools to sell, illegally caught in our port, and we needed help help pay for the repairs to the orphanage. So we had a public auction of every Black and Decker tool on Black Plague Friday at dungeon prices.
We were able to raise all the needed funds in one day for the children, but we still had 30% of the load remaining. So in an effort to provide food to the homeless through out these waters, our finest cabinet makers devised a puzzle chest filled with gold, donated by myself, to be cracked open on what we called Cypher Monday. People bought one tool and got a ticket to try their luck. It was a great success and many thousands of people with have a happy holiday season with warm, full stomachs.
You want to know why we are buying tools at that price? I dont set the prices here in Baramas, we let supply and demand set the price, its called free market and I know that seems strange to some based on recent posts. You want to know why demand is down? Because the fine people of Baramas would rather help the hungry of other ports and the children of Baramas instead of worrying of others bottom line. You want to know why We can buy tools for 19gc instead of 20...
Ye only need to check your faith! In your heart you know there is a grand design to this world and a maker, and peace be with CJ and his 12 admin. If I may read a passage from the great book... And I read "And the CJ sayith on to the world of Avonmora, let there be ships, and trade, and populations, and bread... and those who would do good and those who wish harm. I give onto thee wind to sail your ships true, I give you goods for which to make your tithings, I give you Dez for which to act like he does much but does not... brag when he shouldn't ... and accuse all of that which he is guilty of doing and is always good for a laugh, and lastly I give you the code to eternal life in Avonmora from which every transaction will be made"... So Sayith the CJ and peace be with him.
What does this mean? It means our maker coded the truth into our world and there is nothing we can do about it, also dez is only here for our entertainment and to be mocked. Ahmen!
Remember...
You can sheer a sheep many times, but only skin it once!
