SUMMARY/ACTION TAKEN TO DATE:

1. Poll indicates a need for Mods to enforce the rules more stringently and to be more consistent with banning, warnings and suspensions.

2. Suggestion for community to vote or take on mod opp over set period of time. (Mel/CJ)

3. Defining, clarifying and making the rules more visible: the rules for each forum should be easy to see not tucked away...

4. Understanding flaming is best done in Union of Honor Forum.

5. Flame-free area. Decision for mods to be more pro-active and split or move topics, issue warnings etc if necessary.

6. Reports to be attended to asap. Report notifications to mods are now accessible to all mods for consideration.

7. Suggestion: Separate headline or icon/button for UoH.

SOLUTIONS...

+ Mod activity>> Monitoring forum rules.>>Responding and acting on reports. (Mel/CJ re:letting players know their complaint has been attended to.

Suggestion: Players to please use the report button more often as necessary instead of doing nothing and withdrawing from the forums.

:Voting for change of mods every 3- 6 months. By appt or voted in?

PLEASE CONSDIER THE POLL RESULTS AND CONTINUE TO ADD SUGGESTIONS FOR CONSIDERATION ! THANKS.

I don't think voting would be the best idea but rotating moderators in and out sounds good

honestly, I think if someone does a good job as a mod, then it seems silly to rotate them out for folks who may do a worse job. I think a good idea may be for a few nominees to be picked, then let the community have the final say. I really like the idea of having mods picked by the community, the tricky part is figuring out a smart way to do it that won't backfire horribly.

Voting can end badly, a good example I can think of- I remember a rather funny story I heard about how a bunch of trolls voted in a kids contest, and it ended up with a green onion flavoured cereal :D

Perhaps we should have a “supreme moderator” who is in charge indefinitely

Fantasy draft is a perfect example......

If you want the community to be involved, hold a nomination process, but let current mods pick one or two.

As the mods are volunteers, why do we need to hold a nomination process or even a vote. You don't exactly see people jumping to volunteer for it. So with all these grand plans, who is going to fill in the roles. And those that do come forward, why haven't they asked or volunteered before. I recall a topic a while back that Mel posted looking for volunteers.

There should be a place or thread where folks can go to see what they can do to volunteer for certain roles. At the moment, unless I make a post asking for volunteers, most people don't know they can message me and ask to be a mod and volunteer. As well as let folks know other roles and positions they can try to apply for. At the moment, hard to find that kind of info.

I thought that was tried with the Player Dev Team back at the beginning.

not sure. I've had nothing to do with the player dev team for the most part, so don't know what they've done or tried for the most part.
