along the same line of thought you don't see me attacking everyone I disagree with
feniks has had some pretty defined thoughts on my behaviors in the past and maybe in the present
he doesn't get no static or disrespect because if he says I shouldn't do something its because he himself wont do it
that's respectable
but all you double standards folks wanting one sided enforcement make me laugh
dez has banned me told me why without a flinch
but if he bans one of you ... you will cry favoritism and anything else but the truth

So then we are back to enforcing the rules moving forward. This isn't a zero sum game, all or nothing, there are levels of back and forth that are acceptable and levels that aren't and its is the moderators job to maintain that level.

I would say ban anyone who cant conform to the rules from using forums.

well worst thing is if nothing changes, we just keep im'ing each other as we do now. But remember mods, you asked the community, the community answered up top, so no matter what anyone else says, the results are what they are. So get rid of the meaningless chatter and fix it.

No matter what has happened in the past, we should all want this game to get better and succeed.

Here is another example.. CW.. this thread isnt about you and your recent ban from Slack and nor is it a platform for you to make it about you.
We are looking for solutions so if anyone has something else to say please post your own thread and go the hell for it .. otherwise it is time to move on to finding solutions together.

From what I can see..

1.the need is definitely for mods to be a little more active and consistent in the rule enforcement area.
2. We need an area where there is no fire. If flaming is kept to the right forum, this problem could be over... well controlled a little at least.
3. Dez does an awesome job helping with tech and game stuff. I also know from working alongside him for many months now that he is patient and helpful when it comes to whats in the best interest of PG. The bias allegations are clearly taken on board and Im sure will be attended to form now on.
4. I hope those who enjoy posting and providing some fun for the community give it another crack so we can move forward with what we have learned. I'm sure we will all do our best to encourage each other and support each other and PG through getting this right and finding the balance.
Is there a 'penalty scale' ? One warning, two warnings, strike 3 you are out kind of thing? Is it going to be no warnings.. you know the rules... youre out for a month... What is the current system?

Looking at the voting. For those that have voted #8. This game is amazingly complex and no one will ever know everything about the game in its entirety. So asking silly noob questions won't make you look dumb. I had to recently ask where a certain link was because I had forgotten. I felt alittle silly because I should have known, but it happens. No one should be shaming you for not knowing or you forgetting.

Ya know Argo, if you look at it for what it is, this thread got more posts then a lot of other types lately. Seems like the real issue is people here won’t admit that they love to quarrel considering that they do it an awful lot. Just pointing out the obvious.

A prime example of the perplexity of forum moderation.

Here is a post that holds no value to the discussion and thus effectively is off topic.

Off Topic posting is a rule violation.

But how do you handle this....

Do you ignore it as the post isn't really an issue?

Do you remove the post or move it to it's own topic?

Do you post an informal warning?

Do you issue an official warning?

Do you issue a ban for a rule violation?

All of those options are valid, but which do you choose....

It's clearly a violation laid out in the rules. Please tell me which option you choose.
