I agree with the 'parlay' notion : I just think the current forum rules properly enforced would serve the same end. As it is topics on 'serious' aspects of game-play or development just spiral rapidly into the now usual toxic mess which kills any progress stone-dead.

Even the forum 'fun', like the games and competitions, is being strangled by the fact the forums are not a fun place to be unless you have a skin like a rhino or enjoy dishing it out as much as taking it. Which is not most peoples idea of 'fun'.

Even this thread has headed rapidly into the usual death spiral of incontinent verbiage.

Maybe we should just give up and not bother with posting/reading/contributing to the forums... which is becoming the default position for an awful lot of players both veteran and new.

This game needs the players : players do not need this game : there are plenty of other games with less grief and more fun.

It's an issue needs fixing or it wont matter what we call the threads.. no-one will be watching.

Anyways, I don’t feel like reading that. Your hypocrisy is broadly obvious, and I agree with Danik’s viewpoint. Seems we have plenty of others that also voted 1.

Read it as you will wrongly or delusionally, so far, hijacking seems to be the issue.

Therein lies the problem, Lolita... I offered up a post with my views and opinions.. all on topic and bingo... on comes the ad hominem responses. Boringly predictable.

I am more than happy not to have to waste my time dealing with certain folk on the forums but certain folk aint inclined not to keep 'targetting' those they disagree with.

Which leaves the only solution to be for the 'grumpy old men' to avoid the forums entirely.

Back to the topic : why are folk avoiding the forums?
