Oh, they know full well. They know the Magnus well, and support him. After all, he is Chaos. My deal with them did not involve the Books. They can steal them from the Magnus if they so wish.

Veera is silent for a brief moment before speaking once again

If you really think the fiends support eldritch beings then you know nothing of them. You underestimate their cunning. They would not hand over anything to eldritch beings. You are being played, by multiple masters. You are just a puppet. Yet you do not seem to see that. While I typically am not a fan of talking to my family elders, I will be talking to Granny Agrat and the others. Perhaps, in their wisdom they have some grand plan. So go ahead and be a useful puppet for your masters. You will continue to take losses in your quest. For now, the port is yours, congrats on your pyrrhic victory.

Dreadbolt has already stopped listening, though Fleck is watching the sky, a thoughtful look on his scarred face, a gleam of interest in his eyes. Meanwhile, Gaster stood, moving to look out a window at the burning, empty port beneath his manor.

What a pity... I had planned to host a ball this week, not that any of them would have attended.

He laughed bitterly, settling back down in his chair, waiting for Vune or one of his many servants to break the suffocating, depressed silence. After a few minutes, he stood, leaving his manor for the first time in many weeks.

Hello? What happened here? Someone? Anyone?

A soft kind voice speaks to him telling him what's happened here, and what is happening elsewhere as a shade of what looks to be a nun shows up looking at the port.

Though, Veera, is to blame for the death of the port, preferring to see it wiped then let it fall into enemy hands. I am Ellen, by the way.

Hmm. Hello Ellen. I'm Gaster. Seems like the Helvunes could use an army. Thankfully, I happen to have one. Any idea where they're holed up?

Ellen nods

Oh, I imagine they are having meetings in the hidden cave manor the family uses. North of Seaglory in a concealed cave passage that leads into the mountain. If not there, swing by one of the other family hidden lairs. You should know a few of them I imagine, being a former Helvune and all.

He shudders.

This family and caves! Nobody seems to appreciate Gothic architecture anymore!

With a grumble, he reenters the manor, coming out wrapped in a thick cloak, a fancy walking stick in one hand, and a thick book in the other. He drew a line in the dirt, stepping across it and disappearing.

Ellen lazily follows after him, casually chatting

To be fair, the family has used caves since it's founding-which predates gothic architecture by, well god only knows how long at this point. Probably used caves because buildings were pretty primitive in those days, so a cave tended to be better. There is a manor inside the cave just so you know. They tend to update the architecture every so often. I think at the moment it's medieval castle style.

He looks around him, before revealing the cave entrance, stepping through. After Ellen was though, he closed it.

That's a little better. This place was little more than a cluttered hole the last time I was here.

Ellen shrugs

This is one of the newer lairs I think. So back in your day it was just started getting built. But they do tend to make grand caverns and tall buildings in caves. Makes sense why all of them are as white as a ghost. Though, I do think even I'm not as pale as they are to be honest.
