Hmmm, danik... i actually disagree with you on that one. I think he is more a realist without the PC filter on high. I think that sometimes he has a problem articulating what he means, but all politicians pander, but his "pandering" has led to him following up, which turns it from pandering to action, meaning he isnt a used car salesman, he does he says and what the people who voted him in wanted him to do. Very scary idea in politics.
People need to spend longer than the 5-10 seconds listening to sound bites and paraphrasing, because you can push any agenda that way. Context is what matters. Legal definitions are there for a reason, the law doesn't care about your feelings. I feel for people who want to make more money, but international law states that if one is seeking asylum they must do so in the next available country, cant bee in too much fear if they want to pick the country they want to be "saved" in, and what happened to blaming the parents of these poor kids who knew they would be separated at the border if they crossed illegally?
Lastly, where is the same moral outrage for little Johnny in NYC who was separated from his parents that are in jail for breaking the law? Adults who break the law, go to jail when caught, and the kids get separated. I get it though, people cant claim to be virtuous if they put the whole story in perspective, because then it makes too much sense.
People need to stop being hypocrites and being soooo upset that someone said poopy pants when they say poopy pants all the time. This selective outrage really divides us all.
Remember...
You can sheer a sheep many times, but only skin it once!
