Ask CJ your question

Anything related to in-game diplomacy (and beyond) can be brought here.
Guild news and announcements, war declarations, recruitment, military service offerings, etc.

Flaming is expected here. If you are easily offended, avoid this thread all together.

May i have permission to make such tshirt?

You may use the logo for personal usage (ie, mousepads,t-shirts etc). You will find the logo here: https://www.piratesglory.com/press.php
If you want to use it for commercial usage, message me in-game. For years I wanted to use an online service to create some merchandize for the game in order to present/reward longstanding players (during Christmas actually). Perhaps I will find the time to do so during this Christmas.

Dmanwuzhere wrote:is it true as suzy stated that he and meliva are tasked with choosing which newbs to run off and which ones to keep and if so why would the pr guy be tasked with running people off?
he hasnt added enough to be a true pr guy imo but why are those two the arbiters of who can play the game and who cant as they come in?
i didnt notice it in the list of duties you posted in the other topic so i figured i would ask you here so i dont have to rely on rumours :?:

Who suzy is? What do you mean choosing newbs to run off? From what I get, you refer to Clockwork and something that I have no knowledge of. Here is one general answer:

The role of every player administrator is described here: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=4883
If anyone asks for something different or something that falls outside their area, he is to be reported directly to me. At worst case scenario, you will be wrong and you will be provided with information from first hand. At best case scenario, this will act as a way to ensure that player chosen admin are carrying out their tasks as they are supposed to do.

Stan Rogers wrote:CJ... What would you consider to be the next semi-major improvement or direction in which you would like to see in PG development ?
If the dev team could have a little more focus on ideas brought forth by the player base that aligned with your vision of the game direction, they could start compiling those ideas to assist in things that will help you in getting the finer details worked out. :?:

Hey Stan, I will answer this question later today with an announcement as I have a lot of things to say here.

Edwardteach wrote:Hi CJ,
Teach here. Just doing some follow up on some game upgrades that were hot topics in the forums a few months ago.
There was a lot of excitement about two proposed (and approved if I'm not mistaken) improvements.
They were Winds and Wind Direction as it would effect trade routes and possibly PVP battles.
The other was Port Fortifications, and the ability of fleets to attack a port, and Blockades of Ports.
Just wondering if those improvements were still moving forward, and if so, when might we hope to see them?
Thanks for designing the game that we all enjoy so much.
Sincerely,
Ed

Same here, your question answer will be included in the announcement.

Just for an idea..Many games have a spin the wheel feature at daily login.
Just for added fun, PG could have a 'Spin the Helm" and offer coin, voodoo cards, turns, fame etc...

Do you think something like this would be good/viable?

Although Feniks and dman already gave some insight, let me reply a bit more in-depth to this.

This is a different version of what we have in voodoo chests (You can get up to 4/day - or more if you have friends sending chests to you). You need to also consider the impact that such freebies have in the game economy. Our game economy is very dependable on what other players have. In this way, we need to be very careful, especially when we speak about gold coins. Gold coins in general, is the hardest to "buy" or "get for free". Because the way the game is designed, the gold coins in circulation are what eventually balances the gap between newcomers and veterans. However, such coins must come from the pockets of other players and not out of thin air. This also touches the game funding method as credits are designed to shorten the gap of newcomers versus veterans.

Another important element is that whichever thing we add in the game, is not added just to offer yet another thing. We actually should not add but incorporate (I hope I am using the word correctly). What I mean, is that every feature should be tied to something else in the game in order to expand it. In this way, we create an in-depth game where the winner is not defined by the click-click-win tactic that many other games use.

So, I am not against such ideas. We only have some prerequisites, and as I explained above, prerequisites for Freebies can be a bit more complicated. Feel free to create your own idea and put it in the suggestions thread and we will continue from there.

Hey CJ,

I keep bringing up the HN issue as i see it. What i mean is, a person can spend years building, millions of GC, and all it takes is 3 HN's everything can be gone quickly. The person who casts has nothing at all to loose with such a cheap card affecting the whole world and every thing that person worked for can be gone... if the person clears it, then it only takes another simple cast...

I wish there was a way to make it harder to terrorize people so they had some skin in the game as well. The attacker in this situation has nothing at all to loose. What if we casted on fleets going to or from specific ports. Then if you wanted to light someone up it would cost you.

It just seems the way it is now, you dont even need to have ships to destroy someones entire fleet, or atleast cost them millions, seems to me the attacker should be taking more risk.

If you can "loose" everything with 3 HN's cast on you then....

As far as "skin in the game" that is where danger balances things out.

LOL i think your missing the exaggerated point. HN's are way too OP and now are simply used willy nilly to be a nuisance with no real repercussion.

Who's danger? If a person lights someone up and signs off, leaves the rest to attack, where is the casters skin in the game? Or The caster has no fleets, and just casts, where is the skin? Thats my point it is way too easy to terrorize players and takes no skin or skill.

Your take CJ?

Being a witch doctor is frowned upon as it can create toxic game play, but is not strictly against the rules.

Wll then you will be in favor of SHM ship based voodoo suggestion. Look forward to your support when it comes up soon as a change to overall nation play. Every card cast will be cast from a ship instead of a voodoo chest.

Fantastic idea, But yet i still find that one way to get the skin in the game is to cast the port, not the world.

How could you contact every angry native in all ports worldwide at that time? Skypager? lol If you cast the port, and you want to toss 3 HN's + lets say 5 more cards than thats it...for world wide attack, then you would need to cast 63 HN's (three for each port) and there's your turns, unless you group up with others.

The lone witch doctor is done, it would cost too much on a daily bases to attack at random or for "the fun of it" and if you get a group, then random attacks become guild or nation wars, so they may be less likely to go that far for sharks and giggles and diplomacy plays a role again. Meanwhile, the annoying random hit on one port, much more manageable for the the cows, errr i mean us traders to recoup from and not loose faith in the game. All of you pirates and warlards should want a nice field of meaty, juicy, cows in your pastures :)

I do like SHM's idea on using ships to transport port voodoo. Smart guy that Henry :)

Aye, A few tweaks to it as part of a bigger suggestion and your concerns will be addressed.
