Wuld still be a safe haven with the above comment, just less absolute.


While I think Vane's idea on this is clever and would be awesome if they could implement it, I can see that being difficult to implement without a map change and possibly a mechanic change to how distances are calculated. As well there are only so many locations that the port could exist on the map, unless the "island" is one that doesn't show on the map as land and even then you would want the island to be away from other ports.

Love the consideration of Devils Throat! Random damage applied is a must, maybe each ship has a 50/50 chance of taking 50% damage. As per the sink chance I like that too, 5% might be light. Perhaps 15%?


Agree that damage should be higher and with a greater chance. Sink chance could have a variable rate based on if the tail ship received damage. Higher chance of sink if tail receives no damage.

Gaining 2 Danger per hour I think is perfect. We already lose one point on every hour so so in reality we would be gaining one point. (If i understand this correctly). Otherwise 2 pts on every hour might be a bit high for my liking. Less than 3 danger to enter is also quite restricting but is necessary. I would like to see the limit up around 11 points though. Cant raid and hide, cant hit 2-3 targets and hide right away, must wait 1-7 hours respectively.


I think the limit should 18 danger. That's 1 defense. The danger increase of 2 per hour (+1 per hour with offset) works perfectly. Also I suggest that the voodoo card Hideout cannot be used on fleets docked in the Island.

Pirate King -
I propose that there be a title given of "Pirate King"


To be eligable:
- This Pirate must have won 10,000 Battles min
- This Pirate must have won 2,500 Skirmishes min
- The Pirate who has the most "Battles won" and has the above requirements, will be crowned Pirate King
- The Pirate King is granted access to a second Flagship which he commands and can upgrade
I don't agree with this benefit. Flagships are powerful enough, no one should get two. I think title, and a tribute amount given at each update would be enough. This tribute could be a set amount, like 500,000 - 1 mill "or" come from some form of tax generated by the island.

- If no one posses the above requirements, there is no KING (requirements of course are negotiable, but must be difficult to achieve given the prize)
- If the current Pirate King is dethroned, he keeps his 2nd Flagship, but does not command it (can't upgrade it further) (standard Flagship rules apply)
Again, I believe a 2nd Flagship is too much.


I completely agree with Vane on the above, especially that another Flagship for the Pirate King is too much. If multiple players reach this, you would have multiple players with 2 flagships. I think an alternate benefit, such as profits from the Rum or Vane's suggestion, should be considered.

Pirates of old were not a chummy lot, they were as quick to rob other pirates as they were to attack merchants. In that spirit perhaps the title of Pirate King should go to the pirate who ships in the most rum and has the most skirmishes capturing the rum coming in. Surely the pirate doing that would be the most popular pirate on the island, and thus receive the love and votes of its drunken population. After wondering why the stats were needed to be so high to achieve the title. The answer I settled on was not to my liking. When you limit the field of applicants, you control the possible title holders. In doing that you alienate newcomers. As they have not built 2 or more years worth of stats. If noobs are excluded then the **** measuring contest is rigged, and turns into more posts inquiring how to draw noobs in and keep them. It is a pirate island and any pirate king title should come from merit concerning exploits to do with said island its inhabitants and its ability to keep them drunk.

There will be some players that will have 2 flagships regardless. Perhaps more. But that's for a future time.

This suggestion was for the King to be able to upgrade 2.

I am open to other items for Pirate King however as 2 Flagships is quite powerful

the requirement for a pirate king is bit to high and gives the power who are already at top alienating the newbi's, the pirate king could be decided by hostility or fight/fame/influence (or any other alternative's)

the concept of flagship is new to me so no comments regarding that.

and if there is a pirate king i suggest a pirate council as well, maybe they can decide the pirate king.

for gains i suggest gamble ships/voodoo,gain crew for free and get special kind of ships only available there(or maybe voodoo)

the port can be invincible ,but pirates can get information about trade routes or other useful information and do add cigars and food.

Hostility Fame and Influence are super easy to come by. A pirate king needs to prove his/her worthiness. Not just buy it.

then how abt the pirate council, which decide the king and council can be decided by taking down powerful nation lords or other powerful pirates.
plus adding smuggling,looting and plundering to the pirates only activities :D

Shipwreck Island was the meeting place of the Pirate Counsel. I agree that this should be part of this. There was only 9 on the Counsel, each carried a special Pieces of Eight to allow them to attend. This to could be a feature. This special Pieces of Eight could be stolen/captured some how to allow the Counsel to change.
I don't fear death. I look forward to it with great anticipation. For then I will met God face to face and let him know that I stole his Man of War!!!

+1 for that but -1 if no smuggling,looting or plundering is added. then again i doubt they will add these features.

i think it will be a good feature but needs a bit changes i believe. For example to become a pirate king requirements should be a lot less but plunders skirmishes should count only when he/she get that wins when flying jolly roger. its pointless to gain all wins from under a nation and join pirates and become pirate king instantly.

Also suggesting a decrease on its win counts while he hold his pirate king title. he should fight to keep his throne, decrease will be manageable to not ruin gameplay. it will be good to avoid inactive pirate kings take throne for months.

i thought pirate flagship may be too powerful but with my suggestions it will be deserved i believe. so only active king can have and control two pirate flagships. when he lost his position it will be taken by new pirate king.

about rum sale im agree it should be worthy to sell due to high demand but trading not pirates main concern. maybe put that island in the middle of rum routes and it will randomly steal rum from trading ships:) based on active fleet count stayed in island.

for council it will be based on plunder and skirmish wins. top 10 player will be council members 1 pirate king 9 council members. that booty(randomly rum steal) will be distributed between council members. also council members can be named with a title too. also their win counts will decrease over time but lesser than pirate king. so be active or lose your position and title.

for island maybe daily visit limit will be good to have to prevent abuse. also it may take turns. for council members limit will be a bit high and for king maybe limitless.

i like the idea to give pirates identity. it needs a lot of discussion to make it close to perfect. thats why we should share our opinions without restrictions. it may be stupid but someone else can put it in a perfect body who knows.

i would like to give more feedbacks but need to think more on it.
