Maybe this can be a suggestion? More islands means more crew back from salvation of a ship. No islands? Tip to all the crew members lol

only reason there were only 15 survivors out of 250 loyalists on a ship of the line, was the fact that the island happened to be where i operate one of my plantations. the poor souls were instantly put to work. while only 15 survived untill when the rescue finally came, those who died did so happily, knowing that they had given their life in order to make me a slightly wealthier man :)

Where do these crew actually go whilst the ship is sunk? Does the ship have water-proof/air-tight rooms? Are they wearing scuba gear? Details!

They go to the reknown Bermuda Triangle, in a lost resort welcomed by a misterious Mr. Roarke and his loyal servant Tattoo.

Leviathan Assault Trait
=============================

Functionality proposal
-------------------------------------------

Leviathan Assault is triggered at the start of round 3
If the Leviathan is successful (5% chance) the enemy ship is sunk at that point with immediate effects. This means that the enemy ship is removed from battle and the ship that launched the assault wins the round.

If both clashing ships have Leviathan Assault, then we prioritize attack based on ship speed. The ship shooting first, launches the Leviathan first. If the Leviathan Assault is successful, the other ship does not get to use it.

If a ship with Leviathan Assault sinks the enemy ship before round 3 and the enemy ship is a fleet tail, then Leviathan Assault is also triggered. At this case, the enemy ship does not get a Leviathan Assault, even if it has the trait.

Stacks with regular level loss
-------------------------------------------
It does stack with the regular level loss. A Leviathan Assault at the tail ship, can result in 2 level losses for the defender.

Scraps Earnings
-------------------------------------------
Scraps from Leviathan Assault generate 20% to 40% earnings (random - no piracy tech modifier) for the battle winner. The combat winner collects all scraps, from both sides.

When you say scraps collected, do you mean materials for building ship or gold ransom for the cost of the level destroyed of the ship?

If it is materials, are they sent to the warehouse?

If not materials and its just gold, no need to say where that goes :)

there definitely should be scraps, otherwise it is just causing waste randomly.

should the gc from scraps be automatically sent to preferred bank? i could imagine stealing ships gets harder and not worth spending lot on, if theres random chance on combat provides that gc for unsuspecting victim.

Ship plundering MUST change in some way. I do not know yet how. Whether it will be something additional or a complete overhaul, I cannot yet tell safely. But we will need to figure this out, in someway.

This means that we should proceed in our design without worrying of making ship plundering hard. As it is rare nowadays anyway, due to the precautions that players take.

At the end, ship plundering should be incorporated in a way like getting attacked; You will know you will lose ships just like you know you will lose battles. The losses however should be reasonable. At current system, you can lose ALL ships or NO ships. There is a huge gap between the 2 chances which is mostly filled with the ability of your friends (or enemies at times) to save you on the crisis moment.

This is what we need, in my humble opinion, to solve.

could be that it should be harder to pick someone clean, taking all their ships. but to do so with randomness cannot be a good solution. and since we now have plantations that can generate gc to our hands every 10 minutes without even ships moving, i feel sailing is safer than ever

Id like to add with levi protection. Perhaps instead of a ship having protection at level 1, it could be a random level protection 1-10. Mows still have protection at level 1 regardless. Levi protection is a problem and is more of a problem when you have to waste 9 call levi cards to find out if a tail has protection. Thats over 100 creds down the gutter.

If a voodoo card could reveal all traits of a single ship, this would be helpful. Perhaps a card 4 turn cast cost reveals target trait (s) of target ship.

Its not a given that a tail ship with levi protect is unsinkable : once it is down to lvl1 it can still be sunk via the standard sink chance mechanics : that includes MoWs!

Any ship with any trait can still be stolen once the purse is burnt and the fleet is defeated in combat.

Those two facts remain regardless of traits so what has changed to a degree is how you go about stealing ships and the variables at work that need accomodating in your attack plan.

Thus I see no need for any new voodoo or even to have an idea of what traits a fleet does possess. The attacker, as ever, must plan for the worse case scenario and then smile happily when its not that bad in reality!

In my career its not the gennies cast on my intended victim or voodoo cleaned off that have frustrated me : its the sneaky ninja who has ridden on the back of my efforts and carried off the prize from under my nose. And I have done that to others so fair go!
