Emily goes and meets Ellen at the church, the 2 sisters then head east towards the cottage. Emily keeps her eyes peeled and a hand on a knife, and Ellen keeps her good hand on a pistol in case of any local pirates looking for revenge. They finally reach the cottage, and Emily knocks on the door. Both sisters keeping an eye out towards the woods while waiting.

That night, the rest of Jack's fleet and men, all 7,460 of them. The ships are 50 in number and have full guns. When they come into the harbor some people fear an invasion, but it is clear that when the moderately armed men come ashore, they are not here to fight, but it sends a clear message: no one's going to arrest these pirates any time soon.

Code: Select all
Are you serious?  Did you fail math?  50,000 men on 50 ships is 1000 men per ship.  For even the largest ships of the time to carry that many men, they would have to gut the interior and pack them in like sardines.  Then you need to take into account space for weapons, ammo, food, water, the ability to move around.  It's more believable that you can shoot lightning bolts out of your ass than 50,000 men on 50 ships.

When they came ashore, did they leave the ships unmanned, or is that 50,000 on top of crews and full armaments?

actually, no. One if my ships is a first rate ship of the line, which can carry around 600 to 800 crew, plus 49 flag galleons which can carry in real world numbers around 140 crew, meaning my numbers are correct. So it actually would have been more men than I originally said, not less. some ships are bigger than others, mate. Take this as a lesson to think before you speak!

Jack, Dez is correct. even assuming all your ships were the same as your ship of the line with 800 crew, 50 ships times 800 would only be 40,000- and thats still 16,000 less then the number you said they brought. Going by flag galleons with 140 crew, the number you could bring then would be 7,660(adding in the 800 from your SotL). so you basically brought in 8 times more people then should be possible on 50 ships. And factoring in additional things like food and water, ammo, weapons, it's completely impossible for that many men to come in on only 50 ships. I don't know if you accidentally added an extra 0 to your numbers, but 5,600 men would be a far more believable number.
