Why

So we have every opportunity to repent our unwise choices and change our vote to the winning team. Nobody likes a loser.

How about if the teams actually fight for a port to see if the voting was a good prediction of the outcome. Other Fantasy leagues are based on real games so you can see how well your fantasy team performed. Go on! Pick a port and rumble! Whoever holds the port after a week is a real winner.

hmm. But one team could just do nothing, and swing in at the end of the week to win. It would need to be who holds it the most for a week.

I do somewhat like the idea of deciding a future draft winners by holding a contest. Definitely an idea to consider for the next one.

yeah, I do think it would be a bit difficult to do, I have another idea, that might be a bit fun. I was thinking that for the next draft, we should give each captain 100 points, they use those points to bid on the players they want. And they can steal players by bidding more points. That's just a rough idea, but I think it would be a fun twist.

edit- so for example, let's say you bid 10 points on Black Sparrow, and I decide "i'd gladly bid 11 on that legend!" then I get him unless you or someone bids 12.

this I think would make it to where folks would need to consider, just how much they are willing to spend on specific players. Can't dump all your points too soon, or later rounds you're boned.

Lol, we could just re organize by teams and fight it out to find out for real. I think that would be a blast.


My personal observation is that individual players can take and hold ports. But to win a serious battle the key factor is total number of players willing to stake influence.

In that respect you need to look at this fight as who could muster the most bodies and either pay them or convince them to commit thier own resources.

30 players commiting minimal influence will crush 5 players commiting high influence. Once props and cons come into play.


If this happened, we would have to decide if it was teams only or teams plus who they could convince to follow them.

maybe 3 judges with blurbs on their list of teams in order of strength on whatever the draft goal is would circumvent the inability of folks who cant judge according to the goal
the judges could be picked before the draft and due to being taken off the market for a team get an achievement for it and the community could then vote on the best judges logic and blurb and have a 1st 2nd and 3rd judge pick

Ooh, that's a neat idea. Maybe next draft we can do a vote for what ideas and things to implement, and really let the community have a say in what it's gonna be like.
