Well... I actually regret looking past this guy during the first initial rounds... then again, I once would sit "Oh.. it's just Redbard..."

However... Sorry, that might've been offensive my guy
But... I learned recently that... Redbard is indeed a gentle giant, lurking in the background.
He has no plantations - or had... haven't kept up if he made any recently.
He has lots of swag, but that's not why I pick him; I pick him, because he looks out, not only for guildmates but for nation mates too - and sometimes a bit broader than that.
He's witnessed many great events in Avonmora, and been a part of almost just as many; sitting, silent in the chaos. He's quick on the voodoo and gold when needed be, be it for himself, nation or a mate.

Well normally I do one post for my double picks but I am still deciding on my second pick. While this one is fresh in my mind though, I will post my pick to end round 8. I learned about this fine gentleman when I was just a greenhorn of a captain. You see, I was a bit brash in my youth and I decided that I would pick a fight with not only a few traders, but rather a whole country. It was during this endeavor that I encountered a captain who is quiet in words but strong in deed. When someone mentions Bermuda, they can't speak about her without mentioning his name. My next pick is the great Yosarian.

Ok, so as I mentioned back in earlier rounds. It's not always about the heavy lifting. It's about the total package. The supporting cast is just as important. My next pick is the embodiment of a nation player supporting cast. This captain has been on the council of several powerful nations and is definitely someone I want helping me in my port conquest. My next pick is the one and only Jolly Dodger.

An individual, who can lead the pack, or support from the shadows,well versed in the art of war and has remained loyal to the humble nation of Bermuda. This time, I'll pick Bluebeard.

Never gave him much attention, but honestly, he packs more than I thought as well.
He wasn't afraid to throw gold at defending USA ports, and was keen on the use of voodoo - Both when a bunch of scallywags chose to raid U.S.A as a guild, as he was one of the few who fought back, was active in the Berm/USA war.
He's got experience, and he's got the resources. He's a solid pick.
