to be fair, I think Trump knew that if he did take any action, the media would have demonized him. Afterall, it was just a "summer of love" right?

So what all does everyone think Biden will do? I honestly don't know his stances. I know that he said he would end fracking. I also know that he never said that. Both statements are things he said. So I have no idea which stance he will actually take. For any matter. Of course it's Harris administration, so what that old fart thinks and wants doesn't matter.

Like just sending them in to arrest everyone and keep killing to a minimum. Or just fire so much tear gas and rubber bullets that no sane person would stay.

Though I do agree with your point. I do not think many in the military would be willing to gun down citizens. Even if ordered to do so. Of course, I could be wrong. I have no personal military experience so I don't know much on their discipline and willingness to do certain things.

yeah I thought that 'crushing' would be descriptive enough

States are independant,

You can send national guard to assist, but
If the states do not want the assistance their is a fine line were it becomes the government overreaching on states rights.
Beyond protecting federal structures they have limited ability to
Interveen.

Not to say the national guard has never killed any protestors....

Pretty certain You cannot deploy the military against your own country unless an actual war is declared.

Military action is not voluntary. If an order is given you have 2 options resign or comply. Its not choose your own adventure.
Most likley burden to deny action would fall on high ranking officers. Resiging and resfusal to enact orders would come with consequences.

Thats all very true. Failure to follow a lawful order can be punishable by death, court Marshall and jailtime. Its the military, not the brownies, you sign up for it. ;)

Reminds me of that scene in Avatar.

"I didn't sign up for this".

Granted, that line was probably used in other movies and books and entertainment. I don't think Avatar was the first to use it frankly :D

"So, to obey, or not to obey? It depends on the order. Military members disobey orders at their own risk. They also obey orders at their own risk. An order to commit a crime is unlawful. An order to perform a military duty, no matter how dangerous, is lawful as long as it doesn't involve the commission of a crime." - Rod Powers, in "thebalancecareers".

Good thing Biden won, because I don't think I could stand 4 more years of nonsensical twitter ramblings.

But in a way, I may miss it :(

yup, and now we have a man, who instead of rambling on twitter, just rambles in his speeches. Also a man who did not support gay marriage unlike trump. Also a man who told the black community if you couldn't decide if you were for him or trump then you ain't black. Also a man who helped start a war in the middle east.

I hope he does a good job. However, if we get in any wars or any other issues happen, well, hey you wanted him right?
