Parrot narrows his eyes and glares at this weird woman who threatens to fry and eat him.
Parrot does not like to hear this at all.
He looks at the hilt and moves his gaze to the Admiral - In 2 flaps he landed upon the Admiral's shoulder and whispers

" Oi! Admiral! You must wonder this - How come she had the hilt? Evil Liar she be!! She has the blade. You know it. I know it! And she had buried the hilt right here - why? I bet all the rum in Baramas and Pania combined she knows exactly where your blade be !!"

Oh really, bird? And yet nothing you have said to me as of yet has been truth. I trust that witch more than you.

Parrot stands there stunned. He lets the Admiral's words hover in the air.
He flies to the back of Rhena and perches himself between her and the shiny mound of gold. He sits comfortably and begins to think. He stares into the light of the gold and waits for inspiration to come.

In an alcove on the other side of the room a faint lilac glow can be seen softly through the chamber's drapes.
Parrot notes it only becomes visible when the Admiral speaks.
He eyes off both the light and the hilt now in the Admirals hand- or whatever that thing is hanging off his wrist...

He followed the Parrot's gaze, and then smiled grimly. He held out the hilt, willing the blade towards him, and it answered, flying into the hand of it's true master. He then turned to the witch, that same smile still stretching horrifically across his wretched, rotting face. Why break such a beautiful weapon, Rhena?

I'm sorry I shot you, but you didn't give me any answers.

Black pulled out a small round object in his pocket and fumbled with it for a second before holding it out to the woman.

My name is Tom Blackthorn. Sorry we couldn't be properly introduced before. The object that I am holding holds special properties. It can tame demons and dark spirits. It's the only object like it in Avonmora, possibly the entire world. I assume you have heard of objects like these, but have never seen one up close. I know that deep inside, you want it. I will give it to you, if you simple hand over all of my gold, unharmed, and tell me how you got it.

Deal?

Black flips open a compartment on the object and a dark spirit drifts out of it. He closes the compartment and the spirit is sucked back inside.

See, it's the real deal.

Rhena shakes her head to Shade

Sorry, but while a witch I may be, demons and dark spirits are not the type of forces I tend to work with. Suppose I could take it to trade with Veera, or another witch, but I myself rarely work with such magic. Prefer more natural forces.

She looks to the finished blade and shrugs

I did not break the blade. Nor did I know that the other half was hidden in the stolen gold. As I did not steal nor take any of the gold or items. I was asked to guard them, and hide the hilt. You would have to ask one of the others those questions. Veera might know, though she left after her sister was robbed, the other 2 are in the other passages.

She looks to the parrot and quickly grabs it by it's throat.

I do not much care for being called a liar. Let's make sure you never insult me again.

She begins walking to a nearby cauldron, though Emily steps before her and quickly speaks

Apologies for the bird, though I think it belongs to Veera, and we wouldn't want to upset her right? Also, while Rhena is rather cruel and evil, she normally doesn't lie or break her word. I think we can trust her. More then the bird anyway.

Rhena looks to the parrot, and thinks for a moment, before taking out a bit of rope and ties its beak shut

Fine. Would rather not start a fight with Veera or you. Regardless, take whatever you want from this chamber. I've done enough damage to this port to be satisfied. I will be leaving now, so if you have any questions or requests, do so quickly before I finish packing and leave.

Yes, I have one last question. How would I go about re-claiming my gold? Since you are unwilling to trade me for it, can you at least tell me who I can kill- err I mean talk to in order to get back what is rightfully mine?

Black rests his chin on his fist and rests his elbow on a a crooked table, which collapses and sends him to the ground.

She just points back to the main chamber

Well, if you want to kill or deal with the forces who stole it in the first place, there are 2 other passages in the main chamber. The left one leads to me, the middle one leads to some very nasty undead, and I think a lich. Or was he a vampire? Eh, problems for you, not me frankly. The right leads to some spirits I think or was it demons? They all are very poor at conversation, so I do not imagine they would talk with you like I have.

Though honestly, nothing will stop you from taking the gold now, I mean, other then having to lug it all back. Course, they may steal it again honestly. Not to mention after they finish here, they intend to move to other ports. Wiping out the ports is an appealing thought to me, but I simply can not work with these pests. This is exactly why I like to work with natural magic, and not dark and undead if I can avoid it. So unpleasant.

She stops for a moment as she looks the Shade

No offense to you. There are some exceptions I admit, and you seem to be one of them.

He whistled to his men, who packed the second pile of gold and gems into sacks and chests, and began toting it all back aboard the Wreckoner. Apologies, Rhena. The evidence just pointed towards you.

Emily, Black, I would appreciate it if you would let me take care of the lich. He and I have an old score to settle. Though you're welcome to watch.

Can your men load my gold, too? I'll give you 2 million gold pieces. Also, go ahead and take care if the lich. I can handle the spirits and the undead.
