So, Im curious - have you only ever protested in your local streets, Mustache?

The farthest from my own house that I've ever protested might have been maybe ten blocks. I can't think of any reason why people would need to actually leave their city or state to go protest something that they could do right where they live.

Actually I went to protest at my old elementary school, the one Philando Castile worked at right after he was shot, but I think there is a reasonable excuse for going there.

Well not sure about the truth part, but I do earnestly believe that anything taken to extremes is bad. Far left, Far right, both have serious flaws. Same with authoritarian and libertarian. Freedom is really nice, but obviously not everything should be allowed or be legal. Likewise, having a government with too many laws and powers is awful as well.

You know, maybe for a bit of a fun challenge, first person who can tell me something that is good no matter how far it is taken to the extreme get's a shiny credit :D

There is only one thing that can be good when taken to extremes, and that is nothing.

Anyway I really don't view what you think of as the middle as the middle. For instance, compared to Europe we are offset on the political spectrum to the right. That means that the average person in Europe is more liberal than the average American.

The way I see it, my views are not extreme at all, but rather mine are in the middle and yours is extreme. I know, right? Really fries your brain.

I get your point blue, but if you compare America with the politics of the moon and how, and then and blah, and blah. When taking about America, which is different than any other place on Earth who cares what others are doing. Their people are coming here not the other way around (for the most part). How good can it all be?

If these other places have the best this and best that, why not go there? Be happy? That is a serious question, that i think i know the answer to, but i really want to know.

What try to model America off a place you dont want to live in?

I, for one, would love to live in a European country. But there are a few things that are holding everyone back from just moving somewhere better.

1. They have a life here, and wouldn't want to abandon it just to get the benefits of those countries.

2. They have a job, and moving would require them to quit.

3. Immigration is a long and dreadful process which often takes years.

4. Americans are too lazy to learn a foreign language. We think of learning a second language as a hard task worth noting when someone does. But in most other countries people regularly learn 2nd, 3rd, and 4th languages like it's no big deal. Most Americans are most comfortable when they don't have to put any effort into talking.

5. If you move to a different country, you can't take many things with you.

I think we should model ourselves after a system that is even parts successful for all and ambitious. Ambition is important for making real progress, and without it we would be stuck in an endless cycle. That is part of the reason that I hold what many people call "unreasonable" beliefs, and set "unrealistic" goals.

EDIT: America refers to two entire continents, not just the US! I wish we had a real demonym for ourselves, other than American. In Spanish there is the word "Estadounidense" which basically means "United Statesian"

1. This is the 21st Century. They have internet, facebook, twitter, tiktok, clubs, concerts, sporting events, etc. in foreign countries. Are you saying they can't have a life over their that's equal to here?

2. Are you saying that the job opportunities outside of the USA are not as good as those in the USA?

3. Well duh. It is the same for coming here. It takes years to become a US Citizen. Yet people still come.

4. Americans don't like being forced to learn a foreign language, especially to benefit a non-citizen in our country. To be naturalized as a US Citizen, you have to be able to pass a test that's in English. People will learn the language if they want to move.

5. First, that's not entirely true. And I guess the country must not be worth moving to if they don't allow you take your stuff.

To sum up what you said. Americans won't leave America because America is better.

I’m not sure about this. Lots of schools have linguistic programs, not necessarily design to provide an exhaustive understanding of the language but to set you up to be fine on your own in the language. If I were to go to Mexico for a year, I’d be able to communicate just fine from 2 years of Spanish 7 years ago in junior/high school

That's because Le Stache talks out of his butt. He is using the, "Americans want foreigners to learn English when they come here." and "I don't need to learn Spanish, they need to learn English" train of thought. What he doesn't realize is that it actual works against his argument. When you go to a foreign country, you learn their language.
