I dissagre on the children part.
Children do no get the choice of who their parents
Are. Theses days they do not get the choice if the are born or not.

I would be happy to pay taxes that support their heath care.

Everythimg else.. pretty much agree.

I looked it up
Australias health care system.
If its so good why do more that 50% of the population
Opt out and use private health care.

Fyi those that opt out are expemt from the medicare tax that pays for the public health care.

I think it was John Adams that said

"The science of government it is my duty to study, more than all other sciences; the arts of legislation and administration and negotiation ought to take the place of, indeed exclude, in a manner, all other arts. I must study politics and war, that our sons may become coddled self entitled snowflakes that have a zeal for communistic idealism"

Agree on the elderly and helping children part, though would also add folks with severe disability's who simply can not take care of themselves. I've known folks who had such severe mental disability that they literally had the mental level of infants with the bodies of adults. Couldn't talk, couldn't use the restroom so had to have diapers, had to be changed etc. Honestly meeting folks like that was a big reason why I more or less lost faith in any sort of loving god. Just felt so bad for those poor folks.

Though I do believe that folks with no disability, and are able to work should not be babysat by the government.

I'm not saying that we should be babysat and just laze around. Why does everyone think I mean that? I would never laze around and not work or do stuff in my life. I mean sure I could do that but it gets a bit boring after a while

Pretty sure private healthcare is for richer people with more money whilst people struggling financially or on low income use medicare

Did I say that you were saying that? My message was more directed to blue and other socialist ideas. Also, just because YOU would never do that doesn't mean other's wouldn't. Some folks, if they saw an opportunity to do nothing and get by, would do it. Some folks are moochers, or deadbeats or other lazy folks who would gladly do nothing if someone else would pay for them.

That's a large reason why I don't agree with a lot of socialist policies that want to make living easier. Some folks will take advantage of that, and I don't like the idea of folks who work paying for folks who can work, but simply don't want to.

Also Kim, why do you think richer folks in Australia prefer not to use public healthcare? Simple-it's not as good as you believe it to be. Either the rich use other methods because the other methods are superior in either quality, or availabilty. Simply put-there's a reason why people with a lot of money don't use public healthcare. Because it's either low quality, or low availability sometimes both.

As for healthcare I mean exactly what everyone is saying like elderly people, kids who's parents abandoned them and stuff. Necessary stuff like diseases than can be easily prevented from killing you. Not stuff like cosmetic surgery for those who don't need it. I'm not sure why you think my generation will just laze around and do nothing because for the most part our intention is to work just as hard as any generation before us. We just are getting a job not at like 12 but a bit later which I don't see a problem with especially since it's illegal to work that young anymore. At least in some countries

yes of course because the healthcare isn't very efficient and it isn't top notch stuff and never will be. It's more basic stuff that everyday people will need.
