No, I'm suggesting that thanks to the electoral college, Kansas and other low population states have an impact on who becomes president.
Because of it, some votes weigh differently then others, that is true. But again, the president should be elected by winning states, not people. Otherwise what's the point in even trying to win people over in places like Alaska, Wyoming, Kansas, etc? All those states combined don't even amount to half of New york or California.
Personally, what I think would be a better method would be to have the electoral college, but have the votes in the college divided up based on popular vote in a state.
So if for example, roughly 1 6th of folks in Kansas voted democrat, then one of the 6 electorates will count for them rather then the winner take all rule.
That way, all states would have an impact, but votes will still matter.
There may be something wrong with this idea that I'm not thinking of, other then potential confusion in how to divide the votes, but I think a hybrid of popular and electoral would be ideal.
