I'm more or less a nihilist mate. Everything, and everyone on this planet is going to die out sooner or later. Whether it comes from us, or from our sun turning into a red giant, or a asteroid like the one that wiped out the dinos hitting earth once more.

I see no reason for me to devote any time or effort into what is ultimately just staving off an inevitable fate. Good on you and other folks if you want to delay the end for as long as you can. Personally, i'd rather live my life to the fullest I can, and not worry about trying to stop what can not be stopped.

I see your point. But basically you are, by saying that, sending a message to the people who's future it's going to affect most - my generation - saying that you lived your life to the fullest, so you don't give a damn if I don't. Or at least that's what I hear when you say that. You know, I'm pretty sure this is where the phrase "Ok boomer" came from... hopefully you know why.

mate, I'm a millennial. Only 27 years old at the moment. Not exactly fond of being a mIlennial frankly, but can't change my birth.

And I still fully intend to live my life, however long or short it may be to the fullest I can. If other folks like you want to dedicate time and effort into staving off the inevitable, feel free to do so. I see no reason for myself to dedicate time and energy into doing something that ultimately is pointless. Much rather spend that time and energy having fun and enjoying life with what little family I have left at this point.

But couldn't you say that about pretty much anything?
"We are all going to die one day, so why even bother with healthcare?"
"we are all going to die one day, so why even bother eat?"
"we are all going to die one day, so why even bother play PG?"

So if you look at it that way, then you are correct, but if you look at it the same way that you look at any other decision in your life, then you should want to do something.

I look at it like this. Everything and everyone will eventually end. This is fact. So, instead of trying in vain to stop that end from coming or spending time delaying it, enjoy what time you have to the fullest. Enjoy every meal you have, have what fun you can with what games you have, and don't worry too much about the future.

So I intend to try to live my life to the fullest. To enjoy the pleasures of life without worrying too much about what is ultimately inevitable. Now I also don't intend to do anything to speed up the end, so I will go to the doctor, and try to stay healthy, as I think living life to the fullest is easier if you have a longer life. That means I also don't intend to go out and deliberately hurt the earth to try to speed up the end for others.

Kudos again to folks like you who wish to make the world a better place and other such things.

Hey blue... The number one green house gas by far is... Water Vapor :D

Keep researching! Everyone has an agenda, the tree huggers believe the world is near the brink of annihilation and the humvee drivers believe the world will never see harm... the truth is in the middle. We are but a blip on the radar for this planet and we have done less damage to this planet than one super volcano eruption, and the earth has survived worse than that:)

Dont believe mainstream anything. Look it up for yourself, use logic not fear!

When you start to use logic and ask questions, you will find that water vapor is the biggest green house gas, that the planet is coming our of maximum tilt to minimum tilt, meaning more solar energy hits more of the planet year round, meaning it warms up, meaning it can hold more water vapor in the air meaning it warms up more, meaning it can hold more water vapor and on and on till the tilt shifts back the other way and the north pole starts getting more ice again. Oh guess what, the more water vapor in the air, the more powerful the storms... sound familiar? Thats the reason Antarctica is a desert, too cold to hold much moisture in the air. (less than 2 inches of precipitation per year)

And that just one of the mechanisms at play..there are soooo many. The problem with scientists is they only look at things from their point of view and create "dark matter" to explain whats happening with everything because who wants to share the credit for the paper right :D

Yeah, I mean just look at how long life has been on this planet and how often something major has changed things. The asterioid that wiped out the dinos, the ice age, snowball earth.

Really, unless we humans straight up blow the planet up, I don't see us permanently harming it. Even major man made disasters like Chernoybly and the droppings of atomic bombs, eventually heal. Even if we used every nuke we had on as many places we could hit, some life would survive through it, and the earth would heal.

Of course, most life wouldn't survive. But honestly major extinction events have happened many times before, with no human involvement, so they will probably happen again with or without our help. Again, best to enjoy life while you can. Never know when it will end.

Hold on, water vapor is a gas, but not a greenhouse gas. It doesn't heat up the atmosphere just from being trapped inside it. Look up "what is the most common greenhouse gas" and see what you get. I got "CO2".

I looked it up. It said that CO2 is the most common greenhouse gas emitted by humans.

But a little more digging says that water vapour is the most common overall.

Google is a powerful tool, but you shouldn't just look at the first thing you see and go with it. Read a little and dig around.

Edit-and on a side note, be sure to read carefully when you look things up. As I pointed out above, a few missing words can drastically change a fact.
