[FIXED] Plantation : rent installment

Postby Most Lee Harmless » Thu Apr 11, 2019 6:09 am

Okay : April 11 @ 06.00 game time :

Thorakas : I have 207 rented acres expiring in 9.00 hrs

My remaining acreage is from Fertile Lands cast so no rent is due.

Apparently this 9 hrs until the rented acres expire is costing me 1302395 gc according to the rent remaining metric. As the daily installment shown is 62k.. I'll be paying for another 21 days after the acres are gone?

So, I look at my other plant ( Aiora) with rented acres and see a remaining rent which is around 265k.. but calculating the actual time remaining on acres with the rent charged gives a figure of 165k...

If we divide the amount shown as outstanding by the daily installment there.. we get 21 days.. for 500 acres that expire in 12 days and the other 500 that expire in 16days..

This dont seem to be right.

Question: Have you been paying the rent daily?

Reason for asking: I would assume that the daily rent due is calculated when the acres are first acquired and doesn't update if you do not pay the daily amount.

The daily installment has been deducted.. and has been for my other 2 plantations. originally for all acres there rent was 2.5 mil. It is now 1.3mil and I have not changed any settings or made any manual rent payments ergo.. daily deductions have occurred at some point in some amount.

Daily rent is automatic and shown as such. The choice aspect is if you choose to pay the rent in a lump sum instead. So..if the automatic daily payment is not functioning.. there is the bug.

My query is that even after the rent was being reduced by daily installment I am left with 1.3million rent on no acres rented. So that might be a display issue bug or a calculation bug or data collection bug.. or whatever.

Thus this bug report : some thing somewhere cant be working as intended if such a thing can happen.

Update : I see that today the outstanding amount has been reduced by the shown daily payment : so the daily payment is functioning... its just that I dont have any acres to be paying rent on.

Ahoy,

From what I have seen, everything seems fine. But let's ensure that we have a good understanding here before I close this out.

How Rent Works (with example)
==============================

1. You place a bid of 100 gold coins per acre, for 500 acres.
->You spend 2 turns for this.

2. After you have placed your bid, some time passes. Then your bid is fullfilled.
->You get 500 acres.
->You get a rent debt equal to 21 * Acres Amount * Bid Amount. At our example: 21 * 100 * 500 = 1.050.000

3.For the next 21 days, you will be paying 50,000 per day, at daily update, to fulfill the 1,050,000 rent.

================================

The above example is the theory. In practice, you will rarely get the exact acres you want. And/Or your daily rent may be too high, that hourly rent will be triggered. Still, in theory, the rent should end alongside with the acres. So, if you have 0 acres, you should have fulfilled the rent to be paid. I am not sure if this is your case and if this is your case, I do not know if it can be reasoned based on the chunks.

This is where you provide more feedback I guess before I get into more theoretical cases of the issue you are facing. :arr

A case that I just thought is the following, for which I will need to check. The daily payment, might work in this (false) way:

Initial Sum: 1,050,000
First Installment 50,000

Then, it might do 1,000,000/21 again, which will make the second installment 47,619

This will lead to the case that all acres will expire, but there will still be rent to be paid. I will have a check for this later, which seems to be the case. It currently works in favor of the player as it gives him lower installments per day so there is no rush to come with a new system, still we will need to.
