I heard an Axe is the best weapon of choice for an apocalypse. For this reason, I'd take a bible.

I would also take a bible, that'd be helpful.

A saber, cutlass, machete, and some kind of gun to go with it, I'd use an AR.

No. It's too bloody heavy, it can't be used in tight spaces, it can't be brought to bear easily, it's harder to get a hold of. And you are aware that the swords I mentioned can in fact do all those things rather easily right? You do know what those were made to do? they're also cheaper, more lightweight, and easier to carry.

I would highly suggest you try hunting with a spear before you commit to using one for zombie defense.

for a conventional reliable weapon - that is classed as an weapon - I would go with a recurve bow as you can carry many backup strings
they are easy to restring and have no moving parts, they fairly easy to aim and fire quickly at short range. Arrows can be reused if recoverable and are silent. you could potentially use it to fire makeshift projectiles if you ran out of arrows.

for close range a hammer type weapon has the advantage of not getting stuck in the flesh of the zombie.

Having someone build you an oversized magnifying glass and then finding the perfect
height rooftop could be an option.
