It takes 1000s of turns, ambushes, levis (and now even more than before), timing (you gotta know when their guild members are off as well), spying, and stalking in order to prepare. Pirating is already hard enough.

Now pirates have to get those ships levi'd when they capture them? This may cause more SoTLs, but at the same time, the death of Pirating.

As someone who is constantly looking for SoLs and MoWs to steal with a profit, I can testify that doing so is rather hard. Not always stealing them, but doing so without a loss. They already are well enough protected.

And there are lots of SoLs sailing. Perhaps not many MoWs, which I believe may be is because it is impossible to build a new one if it's stolen. And some have sentimental value, too.

Where did guilds like The Pirate Kings [PK] and even the old [ZomB] version go? I realize both don't pirate anymore. Or what about how inactive FoX has been in pirating? Instead of looking about how little SoTLs, what about how little pirates there are to take them?

I disagree. But please answer me, how exactly a pirate is helped with current situation? Do you realize that there are 2 players running massive SoLs and a few more that run only a few? One of them is selling them recently. What exactly will change for Pirates? Soon no one will run SoLs.

So tell me what is better for a Pirate. Someone who runs SoLs and are up for the taking, even if they have to defend them for 48hours first or no SoLs sailing in Avonmora?

I am not naming MoWs because no one runs them anymore.

If you want my opinion, most merchants running them are in huge guilds. Massive powerful guilds. You steal a ship from them? Pshhh, in 2 hours max it will be levi'd or you will be voodoo'd, time spiraled, FoJed, and every other voodoo in the book before that 48 hours hit. 90% of the time, you don't keep the SoTL or MoW.

I go with Haron, add more use for SoTLs and MoWs, then the number will go up. Perhaps add them into port control.

Then give the SoLs more use. Let them attack ports.

I do not see points. You just post like this:

Example 1:
Oh, i can see the end of the world if you do this

Example 2:
SEez, pirates will be no more!

Example 3:
Another idea to helps merchants!

Example 4:
I disagree

Example 5:
I do not like it

Check your post history and see if I am wrong or not. I did not have to check. I posted the examples by memory.

If you disagree with something, yes post your disagreement, even if you cannot reason why. But having to call for the end of the world got old.

Attack ports how? We are looking for something to work now, not in a month.
Still, suppose we did this, would this make you use SoLs?

Since you are saying there are SoLs sailing. How many SoLs have you plundered so far?

The reason you all disagree is you look to ship stealing for profit... it's not a very profitable venture and raiding coin has always been more so in the long run. Ship stealing is a glory/fame endeavor.

When you lose the thought that ships are how you'll earn as a pirate you'll figure out new ways to adapt and how the game is changing to provide more and more coin for such players..

I can think of a few, who do run Man of Wars actually.

It is not so much, this suggestion its the brand of suggestions against Pirates recently. The punches seem to keep on coming for them, I do agree with DOS that they are only few Pirates left, and to call myself one is pushing it at the moment. Regarding my posting, yes this is due to Pirates having a hard time gaining the resources.

Man of Wars - Have always been hard ships to come by, perhaps a Second chance for a Man of War can be collected after 3 months of having your first one if it was lost?... Less people are running with them, yes ones that are are not exactly smart. It be because Man of Wars have no purpose other then trophys - Port Blockades, can tie into making them better;)

Ship of the Lines - Yes, not many people run them the one that run loads such as Kart have the money to burn which in some instances is what matters.

This suggestion itself is not a bad one, just the duration. I think a hour is enough. Yes the target may be inactive at the time - But, you do raids is by getting to know there active times. 48 hours is too long, considering the amount one has to attack to capture such fine ships.

Or... Instead of doing this, alter the Ransom so that it is 60,000 for a Man of War and 55,000 for a Ship of the Line.

Why must it work now at this very point in time?

This basically just means no ships for the pirate.
