An option of Unassigned would be nice I think. (saying this without testing first)

What happens when you have 2 ATT points left over but 4 Spots it could go into? This is my concern with "Auto Assign"

No, you get up to 20 options + 1 evenly = 21

The picture is just an example.

The feature does not kick in when you BUILD a ship or cast Expedition Journey on a ship. It kicks in when upgrading (mass or single).
We let these two in purpose:
-Constructing is just 1 level and once you upgrade it will automatically distribute ALL attributes any way. So for the usage that is intended it has no affect. However, it leaves room when you create a new ship and want to test something new without going to disable the profile first (distributing first 5 points manually, in case you need it.
-Most importantly, since many people construct just to sell, it is best not to include construct in auto upgrade at all.
-Expedition Journey can also be cast by other players. While we can make exception to when it kicks, somehow this is not the reason we created the tool either but most probably we will implement it here, if asked.

This is always the last priority. If you got excess attribute points, it will distribute them evenly. I can see usage for unassigned though. We can do it.

Thank you for another feature I did not think I would like, but actually do :y
Looks like a lot of thought went into making this work.
- If you could add an option to distribute or not distribute the extra points, I think it would be very usable.

I just did a test with a Howker. I only programmed 10 for Sails and 10 for Hammocks as I wanted to see how it "Auto Distrusted". It was not even with the left overs

I got
8 Round shot
5 Bronze
5 Copper
3 Iron

It evenly distributes points remaining without taking in mind current ratings,in this order: round shot,bronze,copper,scantling,double hammocks and cotton sails. Then again, till extra attribute points are expended. I assume you started with about 4 points at round shot.

If you want more sensitivity, you need to increase the number of priorities. It should be doable.

The problem you experienced should not be a big issue though as you tested this on an already built howker with distributed attrs. In realistic situation,it will work better as the ships start with 1 point at round shot.

We tried to make it as simple as possible, so even newcomers can work with it, without the need of many explanations.

At first, we wanted to make a video and add it below. I think the end result is self-explanatory. This is just the developer's perspective though. We are open to criticism.

We are working on providing a solution for what you suggested.

I built a brand new howker and did not distribute any points. I built it and immediately upgraded to lvl 10. This is how it came out.

I will test again, but I agree with you that the more I tailor the less room for error, I was just testing the Auto Assign feature.
