Honestly what Avery did helped cause TOR to crumble, yet it was not the sole reason it happened. I will state a secondary reason TOR fell apart that contributed quite significantly to its collapse.
Part of its fall was a sort of domino effect of losing members. it was originally founded by several members most of whom, were, in my opinion fairly experienced and smart, such as Shadowwood, Williamoneeye etc. over time it grew. the first of the founders to leave was Edward Hawke I believe, who was formerly known as Napoleon. this didn't effect TOR much but then later the second in command of the guild, Shadowwood left. Will was promoted to second in command but losing him was a sad day for Tor. Then a couple more members left, and then came Avery's warning to several players to get out before he attacked. I contemplated my choices, on wheter to stay as a board member for TOR, and fight against avery, or leave and go to SSAA or some other guild. I ultimately decided since most of the players I liked in TOR had already left, and there was not many left who I was willing to fight for to move on. and with my leave, that ended up losing another founding member in TOR, which I believe was the straw that broke the camels back as then the other leaders left as well.
edit- looking back I believe that had I stayed with TOR, and fought against avery, that tor may not have collapsed. so I am in part to blame for its collapse. I decided that I was not willing to fight for what few remained in TOR, and left. I did not know so many others would follow at the time, but looking back its not suprising.
