Yeah, I guess having all but 2 ships you own not in fleets has its downsides, huh? Shame you had 0 gold too. It was very juicy.

Actually, more ports have been lost by citizens leaving a nation and taking their influence, and the ports, with them than have been gained by miscreants moving into a nation in 'take-overs' : so, logically, should not the argument be to make it more difficult to leave than to join?

that's a pretty good idea actually. I recall someone said that maybe when you switch nations, you lose some of your influence. lets say we have a 10% penalty to influence when switching nations, I think that would be a good start. it would mean those who seriously invest for their nation would be hesitant to leave.

10% honestly that is nothing. I'd say loose 100% fame AND 100% influence and 50% of total gold on hand, in banks, burried
Instead of bringing something down, add to it to make it better.
