A New Start, A New Name!

The relaunch of the XYZ News has demanded a new name.

After much deliberation, and in a graceful nod to our Bermudan roots, Your Editor has decided that henceforth we will be The Somers Isles Observer. Huzzah!!

Promotions and Appointments

The last few days have seen a slew of promotions within Bermudan ranks.

Isaac (#54494) has been appointed Captain, while Wolfie (#52826), *King* Jonas (#51875) and Brazzler (#40208) have each performed the leap of being promoted the Major within hours of their promotion to Captain. Isaac has some catching up to do!

Followers of the Avonmora social scene will recognise three former kings: Brazzler of Canada, *King* Jonas of Australia, and Wolfie of Bosnia and Herzegovina. What could be attracting them to the sun-kissed isles? Who knows?

Each of the promotions earns the player a grant through Bermuda's innovative and popular bonus scheme - 250,000gc for promotion to Captain and 500,000 for promotion to Major.

War-Mongers?

Asked about the charge that Bermuda unfairly profited from the recent war that swept Avonmora, a beshorted Government spokesman said "Hee, hee, hee!" before going back to his pre-lunch nap.

For more in-depth commentary we turned to the Overseas Investment Manager of the newly-formed Bank of Bermuda.

"To call Bermuda a nation of war-profiteers is nonsense", he said from his well-appointed chair. "Neutrality has it's rewards. This is what happens when you keep your heads down, make no significant enemies and avoid getting entangled in others' feuds. Under the peaceful rule of King Kart, the nation has built up large reserves of both gold and voodoo. Also, and you shouldn't underestimate this, Bermuda has invested in its ports. There is a reason Neopolis is the most populated port in Avonmora. And look how the population on Kenoni has increased since we took it under our wing!"

Our Diplomatic Affairs Editor comments... Many were taken unawares by Bermuda's emergence as a power on the map. The nation has for so long only held one port, that some had forgotten it's capacity for expansion. The take-over of Kenoni came as a surprise to both Tokelau and the Pirates.

Rumours that Bermuda was to become host to half a dozen new financial institutions have so far proved unfounded. The only development in that field has been the establishment of The Bank of Bermuda. At the moment this is only a Level 1 bank, with an account limit of 2,500,00gc - but what might it become as time goes on?

My advisor and dear friend gave me notice that I was mentioned in a thread. When I read that I couldn't not notice a big questionmark why I gave up my throne and joined Bermuda? It all began when I was a captain in Bosnia and Herzegovina, When late Admiral Z ( due the line of his buissnes noone knows his full name) was called to come in Bermuda he asked me to follow him there. When we arrived on Bermudan coasts we were welcomed as nation heroes I never got truth why was it that way. Both me and admiral went to the castle where Kart welcomed us, during the day Z and King Kart talked behinde closed doors I was on a guard duty, while I waited my admiral I saw a girl she was helper in kitchen she was young around my age, she smiled and she got me with one smile... After meeting ended my admiral called me and said go ahead and tell men we are staying here as coastal area is dangerouse during the night. I went on the ship to let everyone know that we are staying and I saw her in the lobby she greeted me with that same smile and I was charmed. Later that night I finally met her. Her name was Ann. We made a deal that we will meet after everything finishes. I borrowed my admirals best rum and around 1 am we met in the garden. She told me that she wants to show me Bermuda and her favorite place which is on the cliff where my currnent house is. We spent night together and she knew that I am leaving in the morning but she didn't cared. In the morning we set sails and during our trip home admiral called me in his quarters and told me this: Wolfie you are fine young man and you have great potential you will achieve great things in life and I wanna make you my son in law, take my daughter as your wife you came on this position thanks to your courage and possibilites. Yes, his daughter was attractive lady 2 years younger and as we all know how things goes in these situations if I didn't accepted I wouldn't be able to work and protect my country so we got married and we lived happily. 2 months after our wedding my father in law and beloved admiral dissaperd on the sea it was devastating situation. after few days of search we found his dead body he was killed by shark what a irony he survived sinked ship, getting shoot and stabbed and he died from a mere shark. In his will he told me to raise on ranks as I am made for greater things. So years were passing I was getting stronger and I was raising on the ranks. When I became admiral one of older nobles brought me a box in that box I found a key and a letter which said where my father in law had his extra money and a request to raise higher so I was working day and night and I was climbbing a ladder on nation ranks I became one of most influential ppl in my nation I survived few attempt of assassination thank God I got informations and evidences of other nobles wanting to kill me so I hide my family and I started to work on my path twoards kings chair I managed to get there so they were exiled due all their misbehaivors were exploit and ppl wanted to kill them so they ran away. One night one of my guards fell under voodoo magic and my witch doctor couldn't save him he went berserk and killed my wife and unborn child in attempt of killing me it devastated me I was depressed and fell in despair. On funeral my friends from Bermuda came and also Ann. I thought that she will be mad at me but no she didn't she came and old me I knew situation that's why I didn't said anything. I looked at her in surprise, she continued On that night we created something we created new life. I was shocked asking her why she didn't said anything she replied I knew that you have arranged marriage or will have when you return in Bosnia and Herzegovina so I stayed quiet I am just a silly servent while you were navy captain. Later we continued that talk she said that she never got married. I felt like an idiot. She smiled again and said I was so proud when I read that you became King you deserved it. After she heard about my fate she just needed to come and tell me the truth even though she never planned to do it.
So after those happenings I decided to grab my shorts and leave my throne to my advisors and went on Bermuda. Someone could ask why I couldn't just bring her to Bosnia and Herzegovina together with my son. Well I don't need any more problems. So we returned to Bermuda got married I got to know my son Kyle and I decided I won't lose a day from his life it was too much time which I missed so now I live in Bermuda with love of my life and my son. Don't get me wrong I did love my 1st wife and my unborn child but first love is strongest one. So that's story why King Wolfie decided to move on Bermuda. I went back in the navy so that I can provide decent life to my family far away from conspiracies and I think I will get my retirment in the navy.
