If one was not versed in the art of effective propaganda, the subtleties are hard to see.
It would be nice to say to a guild
"Tired of ineffective leadership and no support? Why not join One Eyed John who backs up his guild mates"

Or..."We are offering a promotion to XXX guild members who come and join us. Limited time offer"

and that is just one of the many things a feature like this would allow.

@roileon. new players don't want to have to go searching through page after page in forums. People want an easy life, If you can't figure out a new game within 5 min or find someone willing to help then get started then "delete app" gets pressed. out of the last 100 people to start playing this game only 4 reached over 1000 fame. some reached 67 fame but most people have 0. download, install then delete. having a real time game wide chat room would help keep new players. and being able to message a guild in the game is not a bad idea. other games have this feature so why not this one? games need to evolve or people get bored.

1) There is a game wide chat room. It's in the lower left corner of your screen. If you are playing mobile then the chat room is limited or non-existent.
2) You can send messages to guilds by sending a message to people in that guild.
3) When you first join the game you get a chat message from online players, this way new players get help from the active players online. I know this because I am constantly helping new players get started and have fun with the game.
4) What Groggy is suggesting is being able to post on my guild's shout board which is something that is sovereign to each guild and should not be able to be spammed by people who could either want to be a nuisance or harass that guild.
5) The game dev is preparing to release a major update so the game is advancing and is developing.
6) New players don't have to go digging, the moment you press go to forums, the Help thread is right there.
7) If you want to argue retention rate, it's simply because people are looking for a game where you're the 1st person or 3rd person pirate sailing around on you 3D ship when this game simply isn't that. It's a game for intellectual people, who can understand the mechanics or methods of play.

1) chat in the lower left to my knowledge has never had an open room for everyone to use.
2 & 4) yes the guild message boards would be spammed but a delete option for the bosses of guild to use would stop that. and or a block button to stop spammers posting again would be available.
3 & 6) Encase you don't remember the tutorial at the start of this game is not the best. I did it a few month ago, not years like most still playing this game. and unless you are on 24 7 some players don't get the option of help from other players. or miss the link to forums. people somehow always find the chat room in games and clicking on chat and there is nothing there can make new player think why bother. all i wanted was a version of the guild message board somewhere (in the Tavern) that anyone can post on.
5) we can only wait and see what new things get added.
7) as for the retention rate 4 out of 100 is too low. I will agree that "it's a game for intellectual people, who can understand the mechanics or methods of play." but when all is said and done this game needs a lot more players.

If I didn't have a sick desire to figure out everything myself, I would hate the early stages of this game.

42 is right its almost impossible at first to figure out almost anything, takes months just to be familiar with the maze of menus...

1. Tutorial missions were only added recently, the only help was the help menu at the very bottom of the page.
2. There is a chatroom permanently open to EVERYONE, It's called general
3. You can create a chatroom yourself so you can talk to a group of people at once.
4. mibbit.com is a way better chatroom website that you can use (Message me if you need help using it, #15855) and can also be intergrated into this website somehow
5. Joining a guild is the best way to learn, thats why recruiting new players is very important.

Plus once you join a guild, you can post on their board.
I think the biggest implementation that's going to come out of this is adding a "Help" chat room or a "Need Help" chat room that's permanently open. The responsibility comes to the players to staff it.
